finished watching season 1. immediately after that started reading the novels. after reading the first book i noticed that the series was very very well done. i might not have watched many series that were novels then adapted to series/movies. but a game of thrones series really did great! guess i'll start reading the 2nd novel. i did notice that there is actually a card game for A game of thrones. wonder if anybody's playing here ? sos: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=10
Finished season 1, finished all the books. If season 2 can stay faithful to the books, then viewers should be prepared for an emotional roller coaster ride!! George R R Martin is just too good, too bad no one knows when book 6 is gonna come out!!
+1 esp the love scenes between daenerys and khal...
I wonder how the viewers will react to the sudden change of vibe in the relationship between Danaerys and Khal Drogo.

With all the twists and turns and cliffhangers, I do hope Book 6 come out sooner. (Just started Book 4 but already spoiled to the end of Book 5) Glad we have the show to relief the withdrawal for a while.

Out of all the books I think book 5 has the most cliffhangers, so many its not funny at all. Now i don't even know what to watch till april 2012 when season 2 starts, everything on tv now just seems dull after watching season 1.

On the bright side, GRRM mentioned that he had finished more than 100 pages of 'The Winds of Winter' with Sansa, Arya and Arienne Martell chapter in June last year with a Aeron Damphair chapter moved from the fifth book. Let's hope he had done more since then.
I have watched the show 3 times already since the season finale and read the books to control the withdrawal. Guess it will be better for me when new season of Walking Dead and Boardwalk Empire kicks off in a few weeks.
Guys, for those who read the books, please continue your discussion in the Book Club section because not everybody read the books and I think they would appreciate not to spoil the next season(or the seasons following) by reading your comments on the 3rd,4th,5th,6th books.
With your further discussion moved there, it would greatly help revive the LYN Book Club section(duh, everyone's there is a book worm ).
Question ,if you follow the books, how many seasons do you think it will go?
I do hope the show will last for 8 or 9 seasons. In Comic Con, the producers mentioned that Season 2 will cover book 2 and Season 3 will cover 2/3 of book 3. IMO, Season 4 will cover the last part of book 3 and some parts from book 4 and book 5 since they happen simultaneously. Can't say for the rest. Anyway, pretty excited.
The creative team won the 'Best Opening Title Sequence' during Emmy Creative Art Award. I think it's the best opening TV sequence of all time. Let's hope it will get more recognition during the mahor award event night.

With more locations coming into the plot, I'm so excited to see how the opening theme going to include them. Some of these locations are beautifully illustrated by Ted Nasmith here
