no~
bcoz the dimme fix it as ddr2. unless there is another motherboard for ddr3 la~
honestly speaking, N470 can not optimize DDR3 ram, even using 800mhz ram also a bit waste !

bcoz it only used up to 667mhz not 800mhz ^^ but now all the 800mhz ram card can be used with 533/667/800mhz ~
looking for low latency ram card ~

Added on July 22, 2010, 4:21 pmdnt need to upgrade the ram if demand on speed! change ur harddisc into SSD better. 7200rpm performance hard disc not really speed up the netbook but it help gaining more heat o~
It more hotter than my dv6 with it n450 and GMA lol~

i have seen ppl in HP service centre opening it.. seems like easy although i havent try it myself.

Pull the orange lever and the cover will open slightly.
then catch the opened side and just rip/pull to open the whole bottom plastic.

Guys, I'm about to buy this laptop for my Wife-To-Be.
She's a THR.FM cruiser, thus she travels a lot.

Although I have a few question I wanted to ask before I proceed with the purchase of this exact model.
I'm thinking of upgrading the RAM from 1GB to 2GB since I'll be installing Windows 7 Ultimate on this laptop afterwards. Maybe.

1. What's the total weight of this laptop without AC-adapter connected to it [With battery attched to the laptop offcourse]?
2. Has anyone ever tried installing Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit on this laptop? If you have, how's the performance?
3. How's the overall speed when Yahoo! Messenger with My Webcam running on background, does windows lag a lot or just a little bit with only 1GB of ram installed?
4. Will Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit slow down this laptop or would it run at the same speed as Windows 7 Starter 32 Bit?

QUOTE(andrewhtf @ Jul 21 2010, 09:41 PM)
i think the external receiver should cost less than RM250 right?
Buy from eBay worldwide, it's cheaper.
http://cgi.ebay.com/65CH-USB-GPS-Dongle-Ca...#ht_1795wt_2290

US$29.90 X 3.4 = RM101.66

Current US to RM exchange is 3.2, but you have to include PayPal charges, so the currency exchance should be 3.4 instead.

PS: Never buy a Bluetooth GPS receiver, it's slow. Even the cheapest USB GPS receiver can beat the most expensive Bluetooh GPS receiver.

Here is my answer.

I have replaced my original DDR2 1GB with DDR2 2GB and using Sandisk 4GB SD Card with 30 MB/s class 6. In term of windows booting up time it was improved from the original of 1.10 min to 1min.

From my observation, if you upgraded the the RAM to 2GB the overall performance during the boot up and shut down will still be same as having 1GB of memory but it will allow you to open up more tab while you browsing and other application e.g. Word, Excel smoothly.

For the SD Card, you could observe there is really an improvement during boot up and shut down time. My overall improvement for the boot up time was improved by 14.29% (60/70).
