had a problem with the netbook speaker. apparently only one of the 2 sides works, and no matter which way i adjusted the speaker balance from the control panel, only one the right side work while the left side is soundless.
since i bought this 2nd hand, can i get a warranty cover from HP? no warranty card given to me when i bought it though...

Stardust & pioneer, are you guys sure? Bcoz i checked with my cousin who also have the same unit from TM package, his unit got sound coming out from both sides of the speaker hole. If this model only intended to have 1 speaker, then why make 2 speaker hole? Could it be that some batch got manufacturing defect thus only 1 speaker functioning?
Anyway, i sent mine to the HP service centre in damansara today. Yeah, no need warranty card, they found the record and warranty is valid. Their technician will check it out and let me know in 3 days time. If that unit is only single speaker, they should've known it and inform on the spot no? Now wait for friday.

yeah... sure... now that you've mentioned it, i've never really looked at the manual... i'll check it out tonite. if indeed only 1 single speaker, then it'd be very, very weird that my cousin's unit have dual speakers. QUOTE(adie82 @ Jul 5 2010, 10:09 PM) all netbook comes with 1 slot ram only.. so take out 1gb and install 2gb.. did you upgraded it yourself? how do you open the cover? i took out the battery and saw an orange colored lever. pulled it and it snapped but the lower cover still stuck to the body... damn... i'd really loved to upgrade the ram, as win7 starter on this unit is really slow... by the way what brand, type and price of the ram? QUOTE(eanson @ Jul 6 2010, 02:45 PM) the manual there state that the speaker is on the right side...just that they make it both left n right are for ventilation purposes...if got hole means gotspeaker...like that we should have 3 speakers liao lor...cos beside the dvi port oso got hole... the hole near DVI port are different from the hole located at the front lah.... meanwhile the 2 holes infront, left and right looks the same. some more i did not read the manual at all... so mah dono lor... anyway i've received call from HP liao. confirm is only single side speaker, so i'm going to collect back the netbook tomoro. now for the RAM upgrading part.... QUOTE(sakurakinomoto @ Jul 18 2010, 02:53 AM) Pretty sure when you slot in the SD card, there will be this autorun thingy. Select Readyboost from there. Google up readyboost to read more on it Heard it works though, why not give it a try? can always use 1GB/2GB if it works, i'd rather spend RM35 on a 4GB card than RM200 for a 2gb RAM you see.. 110 got the software, HP Navigator, buit no GPS antena built in. Since it got bluetooth, then you can pair it with an external receiver lor... i think the external receiver should cost less than RM250 right? Havent had the chance to try it out since i don have the receiver.
plugged in the 4 GB card into the slot, dedicated the whole card for ReadyBoost use. The Windows Experience index number didnt change. Tried playing some fb games... faster response is noticeable, but very, very minimal difference... haih....
now wait awhile to kumpul money before buy 2GB RAM.

i have seen ppl in HP service centre opening it.. seems like easy although i havent try it myself.
Pull the orange lever and the cover will open slightly. then catch the opened side and just rip/pull to open the whole bottom plastic.

so now adding more RAM will only help if you open many things at one go, but not speed things up lah...

QUOTE(VHunter @ Jul 24 2010, 09:54 AM) Should be receiving mine today from UniPack, but just one question, is there a limit to Readyboost? Whats the max memory they could support, 4GB? I dono the limit, but i plugged in my 4gb card, apart from "use the card" and set the amount as your choice, there's another option that says "dedicate this device". I chose dedicate, and they took up the whole 3.7gb available.
