I am in too (but in another market, not Bursa), somehow, I just don't want to do like what you are doing now, puts me in a lot of stress - needing to watch closely everyday and needing to anticipate a crash to be able to escape with big profits on time. shakehead.gif

Just an opinion, no offence to you, my friend.

Added on November 6, 2010, 10:21 am"for klic, 1 sign looks ok, Qtrly Revenue Growth (yoy)
but the rest of the signs, not my type, Qtrly Earnings Growth (yoy) & Forward P/E (fye Oct 3, 2011) 3.91
of coz everyone got their own analysis to pick stocks, I dun argue with tat. othwerwise we r all buffet & its boring, no speculators around"

Guys, for the above parameters, take an average of at least 3 analysts, then you can decide based on that reading. That's how I do it for speculation activities.

The very parameter that I always look at is the trading momentum. The higher it is, I know the liquidity and volatility is still around. The trend will then ride on this parameter and the direction. But that's just me.

Yes, the profit beats not by much but because they guided next quarter higher, the stock price flies..
It is not done yet.. I think we may see high 22-23. Probably will try to short this later. Need to look for stalling momentum first.  biggrin.gif

Also watching FFIV, it been punished too severe. Just like CSCO last quarter. It will come back up to fill that gap.

Suddenly, LVS going to poop some today. Suddenly, Marina Bay Sands CEO is resigning "due to personal family reason".
Not a good thing when LVS is moving back to to higher price before earnings next week.

it is imperative that all newbies start reading before even attempting to trade anything  cool2.gif market wizards is one of them, as a starting ref
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/538473

if only got small capital, go invest in asw, unit trust or investment link  nod.gif
then read their quarterly or annual report, see what shares they bought & wat is the current value in comparison to purchase price

seeing how puny return ut giv u vs the value u seen. utilize surplus funds, which u r willing to give all to the share market as tuition fee
u can now begin ur journey. if u fail, u can alwiz stick to unit trust & forget about trading  shakehead.gif as ut is for long term & forever holding
otherwise, go buy etf & those quality usa co, then select the dividends reinvest itself & keep it for long term & forever holding

for gambling, u mus know who u r & not who u think u r, Post #2347

I make no attempt to hide the fact that I’m basically a momentum gambler. I like to buy stocks where the herd’s already begun moving the stock up/ gostan & start running with the herd. Or can do a swing trade to buy stock at the bottom of its trading range that may, or may not, turn back up   cool2.gif

can u plz explain more about momentum trading, swing trading, day trading and trend following?and plz tell the difference. hmm.gif

The dip-buyers who stepped in last Friday enjoyed a spectacular sequel to yesterday’s bounce, as the S&P 500 screamed higher to finish up 1.67% to 1307. The materials and technology names led us higher, as breadth was impressive overall, despite modest volume. Regardless of whether today was some sort of first day of the month phenomenon, the bulls were able to clearly print a fresh 52 week high on the S&P.

Nonetheless, the small caps, transportation stocks, emerging markets, and even Nasdaq Composite all failed to confirm the new high. Indeed, the trannies and emerging markets continue to sport technically damaged charts. In the coming days, these divergences are sure to come to forefront as they are likely to be resolved one way or the other.

Invest? or trading?

To invest in gold, buy physical gold from publicgold.com.my (you can even pawn it to Agro or Bank Rakyat if you need urgent cash)

I will rather stay away from trading corn, cotton etc.

Why not trade/invest something you are familiar with?

em,cuz i still need to learn more and see which one suits me,ic,really thanks for the info smile.gif i am interested in trading, but also not shun myself from investing...zaman,u invest or trading?

seems like the bull will continue its uptrend,is the market acts like watever u buy will be going up??till now still bullish, just this kind of market is not healthy,QE still going on,commodity ,oil, gold will rise in price,us dollar weaken...good to own some of the commodity, oil, gold stocks..btw added new position in BG,today already up 100%,thanks to the public extreme reaction to their earning...market r not rational at all, need to take this as opportunity, hope BG will continue to be up,and this stock is really cheap selling below the book value, and it is worth to own if u like fundamental, and the technical now also looks good..my position so far ftk,fnsr,bg,ne,avid...best of luck to all of us and happy weekend:)
