I totally hate the new firmware. Shouldn't have updated it. Regret. Small clock is still ok, just open eyes bigger. BUT THE AUTO LOCK! It locks on every screen of the phone. Messaging, browsing.. EVERYTHING! and it's getting on my nerves. Any way to fix this?

I don't think it's possible to revert it back to the older version?

Hrmm but to me the autolock is not a problem. Helps alot to avoid pressing unnecessary buttons.

Mailbox setting---> advance mailbox setting---->Outgoing email setting:


user authetication ----> same as for incoming
user name ------------> yourname@hotmail.com

access point in use----> ask always /user define
security----------------> On(StartTLS)

Just set auto lock period to longer time? or it locks even when you're using it ? im using new firmware and formatted after update and not encountering this problem weird...

nope... the auto lock happens when you leave the phone idle .. it will lock according to your auto lock time setting...
just hate it when im reading a long msg and it locks itself..

dun get me wrong, but i personally like this new firmware bcos the gps performance is way better than the previous one.. im not using assisted gps, but usually it only takes about 1 min for the phone to get gps signal.. but after updating, my facebook app cant be used anymore, no idea why.. abt the autolock thing, if u hate it, u can always turn it off..

Once mine. But mine is not auto off, it auto restart all of a sudden.

My OVI maps GPS seems cant function.. i wait so long still state there awaiting GPS signal
is there any issue if i just turn on integrated GPS?

In order to synchronize your hotmail read/unread with what in your E72, you need to use the function SEND AND RECEIVE NOW after you read your email in your fon.

Same function when you delete your email received on your fon.

The email that your received and read on your fon is the one that have been push to nokia massaging, so when ever you open you email on the fon you actually only open your email on nokia massaging not in your actual hotmail account.

just updated my phone to the latest firmware 051.018, still ok lah ^^

did u turn integrated gps off? i think u should turn it on, thats why u r not getting gps signal.. i assume u have updated to the latest version of ovi maps n hav downloaded the maps.. n also turn assisted gps off if u r a prepaid user, to save some $$$

n by the way, do u guys know how to sync email by using wifi connection.. cos everytime i try to sync, d phone juz simply choose 3g connection instead of asking me my preferred connection

Set your Menu -> Control Panel-> Setting -> Connection -> Destinations -> Default: Always Ask

Yupe, smaller, bt it became faster overall the phone (between switching the profile, start the torch)

I have updated my phone software and OVI maps. But i still cant het GPS signal

make sure you are at open space, not inside ur house

I tink i dun have any problem wif my gps signal...

as i can get my current position very fast,... and i get to share to FB using the OVI share my location...

hmm.. sorry if old info.. just discovered yest i could share my location.. I feel it awesome

To set email connection to wifi only you must set your access point in your email setting under sub menu Account Info to your prefered connection....wifi or 3G. Setting default connection to always ask will not work in email as it has it own setting.
