everglide titan seems more rough than razer's...other pad such as corepad and other is recommended...but more pricey smile.gif

i personally like the dual-sided Razer eXactMat(tm) provides two distinct performance surfaces - SPEED for action/adventure and FPS games and high-sensitivity gamers; and CONTROL for RPG and RTS games and low-sensitivity gamers - on a non-slip, anti-reflective and abrasion-resistant anodized aluminum hard coat. Oversized and uniquely-shaped.

FuncSurface 1030, used for 4 years, still okay. Oh, paired with teflon feet MadDotz i think..one of my BEST purchases ever, no regretz! So you guys saying expensive mouse feet+pad are useless can eat ur words!

FUNC with no teflon will be eaten in less than 6 months, treat the FUNC with nothing but teflon and it feels quite new..cept for the morped vulcanized rubber..haha! Oh, dual surfaces too!

Added on May 1, 2007, 11:48 pmhowever, im no timplying the 1030 is the best, im sure they are better padz smile.gif i personally think 1030 is not the best, but it is certainly GOOD!

Nice advertising.

4) Advertising of personal sales is not allowed.

Still a phrase. "Personal Preference".

Still though, the best hard mouse surface I've ever used is the smooth side of my func 1030 archetype. Too bad I need more surface to move my mouse around so I switched to the Steelpad QCK+. It's very nice too.

lol, dimension 450mm x 400mm / 17.7 inches x 15.7 inches is way too huge for me... i'm using logitech MX510. does my mouse plastic feet will wear off when using aluminium surface?

---------------------------------

it seems that SteelPads Qck quite affordable. i'll recommend it to all my friends.

I have the same problem as you as well. Those pad out there seems to be too big and i do not need something as big. Was shocked when i received my Titan DKT. Should have gotten something smaller like the normal Everglide in the first place..lol..

Heard of steelseries as well but not sure where to find them though..

I'm currently using an exactmat.Mainly coz I like hard pads,it's Razer and it looks way cool (plus 2 surfaces is kinda nice I suppose).I know you're gonna argue steelpads and all look awesome, but srsly, the shape of exactmat is way cool plus I like how they left the borders silver. (and for those who say the shape is impractical, well, get a mouse with low lift-off and practice lifting off more often tongue.gif)
And yea,I expect the mouse feet to wear and all.The thing is,extra mouse feet for my DA comes frm hyperglide, anyone wanna do the bulk? tongue.gif

But seriously, there's still been no particular way of benchmarking a mousepad (lol) It's pretty much down to personal preference I believe.

Hey I'm interested in getting the CoolerMaster Xpad III for my G5.

Its aluminum, does it wear down the feet? What surface is best for feet preservation?

If you ppl wanna talk about accuracy,it's as simple as getting used to a single mousepad. I don't think any particular mousepad gives you more accuracy than another, just depends which suits you more and which you've become accustomed to sweat.gif

As I've mentioned, there's still no concrete way of benchmarking a mousepad,so you can't really claim one mousepad is more accurate than the other

Speed = how fast a mouse can move across the mousepad? Some ppl like it fast, some like it slow though.Like some like a smooth mousepad while others like some with a lil friction in it.

Accuracy = how would u tell how "accurate" a mousepad is? sweat.gif

Size = Hmm I guess the bigger the better,no harm in having the extra surface even if you don't use it tongue.gif (at least if u ever run into certain situations where u wanna move alot, the surface is there for u)

I'm using Razer Mantis Control too. I'm using it for both FPS and RTS. Although the surface area might take some of your desk space sweat.gif

I have always preferred cloth pads which are more comfortable and they are kinder to mouse feet. I have the Everglide Titan and am very happy with it. I tried the Steelpad, but surface feels very cheap leh. No offence to anyone. I have seen hard pads wear out, but have not heard of cloth pads wearing out yet. More than a year on my Titan without any issues. biggrin.gif

depends on wat u want from the surface

basically the rule of thumb is
hard pads gives you better speed and probably accuracy but they wear out, the surface of the pad and they eat up your mouse feet

cloth pads are pretty good, but i PERSONALLY [*read opinion] find them abit slower,
but they don't eat up your mouse feet and actually prolongs their life, but the cloth surface does wear off [my friends mantis speed], but you probably won't notice it =/

plenty of good brands out there
razer, everglide, steelseries and func are the pretty well known, so u know where to start looking

got muhself an Everglide Titan DKT quite some time ago. loving it simply of the size...plus it works really well with the hyperglides on my MX518.

only thing is its so huge that i only use a little more than half of the pad...the other half is literally covered with dust laugh.gif

Steelpad qck+ is faster compare to mantis speed.

What I can say for cloth is

Mantis Speed - OK but have a little roughness
qck+ - faster than Mantis but I dont like thin cloth. less rough
dkt - Balance between qck and mantis for smothness, rough feeling a bit stronger.
qckmass - just like qck + but thinkness and size like titan (not dkt)

What I mean roughness is the control of 'feelin' needed to stop mouse from moving.
I havent tried qck heavy tho but I think its like qck mass only bigger.

Func Archtype - I love the smoothness of this pad. Each time you try and glide using this pad feels smooth almost blend with your mouse. Just keep it clean regulary. A little bit of short on the size tho, otherwise perfect.

Steelseries 5L - have mix feeling you are using hard and cloth at the same time biggrin.gif. The size is just perfect, not too big not too small.

Just my 20 cent smile.gif

Just got my Everglide Titan gaminG Mat!!!

erm i 'fingered' both the Razer Mantis Speed n Titan pads before purchase, and i find the Speed to be smoother?
I liked the speed but it was just too big to accomodate. haha.

my take is Speed --> Titan --> Control in terms of roughness

i may be wrong tho tongue.gif

i was wondering though, would a really big table with a dark reflective table cloth over it pawn any gaming mat. Coz i am using the table cloth and wooden table as my mouse mat....

Just ideas, though.

Well you would have to fix it down permanently or quite securely as cloth, from my experience tends to fold quite a bit. You would have a hard time cleaning it.

I'm still using my func 1030, it's a bit small by the standards of the titan but I love it and have been using it for 4 years or probably more now. I doubt using a cloth surface would make my mouse glide any smoother than it already does.

Ok... according to Ban Leong's pricelist... Everglide Titan Monstermat DKT edition & Fnatic edition is RM70...
and also Everglide Ricochet 2.52 "hard" dual sided mousing surface(1 smooth 1 rough)... equal to Razer Exactmat but no arm rest at all not even sold seperately... RM88... Richochet is not foldable... icon_idea.gif

info confirmed... no changes...

BTW... Everglide normal gaming mat is RM40... icon_rolleyes.gif

price can be nego if take 10 units... icon_idea.gif

doh.gif, that's not SteelPad, it's call hard-surface, SteelPad are from SteelSeries doh.gif, anyway... for those don't know much about SteelSeries product, it's like Razer gaming product, only it's not that popular (to me less popular better)

i'm using SteelPad QcK Heavy (it's soft cloth) and it's awesome, with 6mm thickness (thicker than Razer eXactMat) thus making it more comfortable due to its thick soft cloth plus... it's rectangular oversized design...

only downside to a cloth/fabric pad is tat it tends to wear off over time..
especially round d edges...smthg tat wont occur if using a hard mouse pad

but for EverGlide gaming mouse pads, it's still very good bargain (performance/price ratio)..hehe

Razer eXactmat (265 x 330 x 2.5mm)
CM dual-sided pad (264.16 x 330.2 x 2.54mm)
EverGlide Gaming Mat (355 x 254 x 4mm)

*there's s smaller EverGlide Minimat (270 x 215 x 4mm); but unfortunately never seen available in M'sia sweat.gif

so u planning 2 take around d mouse pad w ur notebook rite? hmm.gif
well, i supposed d most suitable choice 4 u should b CoolerMaster's (i ruled out EverGlide cuz its fabric type & eXactmat cuz it comes with eXactRest which i dun think v convenient2carry around. Unless u go for d1 without d arm rest) tongue.gif

CM/Razer is thin & durable...both hav 2 sides of diff surface...
they dun come w carrying bag though. But fear not as u can BUY a Razer eXactMat Neoprene LAN pack to store&carry it (selling RM50++). thumbup.gif

is it thick? my initial intention is putiing it underneath the notebook to give it some weight...

so my biggest concern is ts size and thickness

normal usage/casual gamer; without a mouse pad is ok...but for gamers (esp heavy&extreme 1s... hehehe);a good surface will proves lotsa difference~

not only limited for gaming..a good mouse pad is quite important 4 designers oso ma

bro, off from ur Q (on shaking)..if u play mostly FPS how come u get a Control Mat? actually d Speed Mat would b more suitable 4 u as its meant for FPS games (d mat surface is smoother) compared to Control Mat (lil rougher surface-meant for mostly strategy games)...

Now, back to ur Q on shaking cursor....normally this should b on d mouse sensor lor... hmm.gif

I mean the mouse itself is around rm200
ori game is about rm120

the package is rm180, if that isn't attractive, I dont know what is

Razer Mantis gaming mat's technology (which is the award winning FiberTek cloth weave) is actually developed by EverGlide smile.gif
tatz y technology wise is "not far behind"...in fact, very much d same lor if not better nod.gif

Is there any really good quality cloth mouse pad? My Everglide DKT is already showing signs of degration and the sides are already starting to "peel" off. Its a good mousepad indeed but after more than 2 years, guess it might be time to change. smile.gif

well, both Razer's & EverGlide's cloth mouse pad is considered very good wuality oredi bro... smile.gif
after more than 2 years of using it (especially with furocious non-stop heavy action usage, etc biggrin.gif ), whether we like it or not, it'll "peel" off on d sides sweat.gif R.I.P

for a change, perhaps u'd like to try out solid pad instead: Razer eXactmat. EverGlide Richocet, CoolerMaster Dual-sided pad. All of it has dual surface (for 'speed' & 'control' gaming) brows.gif

wat 'letter'? newspaper&mags bro? smile.gif

copperhead ka...since u r a fps gamer, can go for

1) Razer eXactmat w eXactRest (dual-surfaced solid pad w arm rest & slightly cooler layout...my humble opinion la)
OR
2) Razer Mantis Speed Mat (single surface-cloth type, slightly thicker, so far no complaints frm user except sides worn out after prolong usage)
OR
3) u can go for options by other brands which is good- giv urself more choices as Razer only offers bout 4nos.; EverGlide, CM, etc sweat.gif

Your own liking lor dude nod.gif

i think u get wrong la bro...no 1 claim tat with good gaming mouse, gaming mouse pad, etc can make u a great player sweat.gif
but at least a good input devices/accessories can definitely perform better than chapalang 1...WHY u may ask...well:

1) 1stly d material/build quality is better...so u can use it with less problems, more comfort/performance & longer-lasting/durable..
2) chapalang stuff normally wasnt designed for gaming (more on normal usage)..i.e. their design is not very ergonomic/gaming oriented, their click buttons doesnt last as long, their engine not as sensitive/accurate, they dun hav Teflon feet for smoother functionality, d list goes on...
3) back to this topic on gaming mouse pad> if coupled with a good gaming mouse: of course there'd b difference...Hence d price difference~

we never c WCG guys using a chapalang device rite? sweat.gif Fatality oso wont be using a Bl**e/ eV**W/ etc etc

But nothing is definite la dude, perhaps u r a good gamer using a chapalang mouse & still can kick @$$...who knows biggrin.gif

I have a Razer Mantis Speed for my Razer Deathadder on my Home PC, and use a Razer eXactmat (With eXactrest) on my laptop when I travel with either a Diamondback 3G (For photoshop/design work) or my Boomslang CE (When I game).

I see that you have the SteelPad QcK. How do you feel it compared with the Everglide Titan? Would the cloth degrade as well?

Well, the cloth of the Titan are also of good quality. Even the logo and surface are in good condition. As said, the only reason is the peeling off/degradation of the mousepad by itself. Loved the Cloth surface of the Titan that provides very smooth movement.

So, wondering if i shift to the QcK, is it still as good or even better. LOL...Have you tried the Titan before?

hey bros,

here's come Icemat info:
~Dimensions: 250 mm x 210 mm x 6.2 mm
~Material of construction: Glass sweat.gif
~Feet material: Polyurethane

so its not considered as a "cloth" type mat i guess smile.gif

LOL..If the QcK is good, there doesn't seem to be a point getting the Titan though.LOL..

One thing that i am looking for when i look for a replacement is something smaller. MonsterMat DKT is just wayyy to big for me. Therefore, the QcK just look awesome. Any pics of your QcK bro? tongue.gif IceMat seems interesting but its expensive. And would Glass type wears out the feet of the mouse?

Yea, the normal Titan is the size i am looking for. The DKT i got was really just too big. Good as an armrest though..LOL..

Besides, the main reason i got the DKT is because - I love the metal tin can. LOL...

LOL..I LOVED the Fnatic last time but to be honest, an orange-colored mousepad aint working for my black colored rig. LOL..So i went for the DKT instead. And if at that point, the normal Titan still comes with the metal tin can, heck, i would have gotten the normal Titan.. tongue.gif

Well, some of them are easily available in LYP. Easiest place would be of course, via Bulk section here. ModernoPC.Com have it as well.

ok... AFAIK, there's other surface at the RM60~RM70 price range, IIANM... the Everglide Titan right? unsure.gif

anyway... i've been using this SteelPad QcK for like... more than 10 months with heavy gaming... yes, i game everyday with minimum 2 hours a day and i'm FPS game freak ph34r.gif...

i tell you, even after 10 months usage, the cloth still intact... here's the idea... i can still sell it as a new package if you know what i mean... icon_idea.gif

The Titan itself is around RM40 but the MonsterMat Titan are around the RM60+. Titan is good but do wear off in some time. Mine is wearing off after more than 2 years of usage. smile.gif

I sometimes wonder, why you need such a big mouse surface?

I mean, i own the Titan DKT MonsterMat and its not big - its HUGE. Until my table are not big enough and partial of the mouse are acting like a keyboard surface. LOL..

Even with 1/3 of the mousepad gone, its still too big for me. Considering i am just using the Krait here. smile.gif

Titan gaming mat is the small 1 which doesn't come with the can,

Titan monstermat DKT/Fnatic is the one that comes with the can.

It "USED" to come with a metal tin can during the early days. But now, they have taken it off for whatever reason though smile.gif

As nles said, the metal can now only comes with DKT / MonsterMat though.

GamingMat "non-monster" version : paper retail box
EverGlide Titan Monster Mat-DKT edition: black metal can
EverGlide Titan Monster Mat-Fnatic edition: Orangy/Gold metal can
EverGlide Titan Monster Mat: black metal can

hardpad can try Func, Steel Series S&S, Razer Destructor.

I like hardpad, hardpad provide smoother glide

Price is not a matter as long as i can enjoy using my mouse but not restricted on the size of my mousepad LOL.

Damn, i gotta find some distributors for Razer, Icemat & Everglide, this way i could sell their products, earn some money and see which pad suits my mousing style by myself. laugh.gif
