Yup primary issue is about OS issue.

32 bit OS also needs to throw out of window aka XP only recognise 990MB out of 3TB.

The hardware is hitting some limitation, and need to overhaul the current standard to move forward.

But I expect, it will be slow process, as same as 64 bit migration, (even 64 bit has been available for years), we are still stuck with 32 bit across even now.

As there is no urgency to use a 3TB HDD especially for OS disk, you don't require such a capacity for OS.

It's not the OS problem. It's a hardware problem on the motherboard.

hello.... jus want to ask.... i juz found an ol hdd dat is 5gb only....  i juz conected it to an ide enclosure.... when it is conected yo the cmpter, it is detected but it does not show itself in my computer.... thr hdd is still spining kuz i can feel it... why is dat eh

Was planning to get another 1TB Samsung b4 2011.

Just fyi guys, all new HDD out by 2011 will use 4kb sector.
