Had a chat with my company's engineer who stays in Thailand earlier today. He told me WD's factories will be ready by mid December.

I didn't ask for the source of his news, but he's one of our most trusted site engineers smile.gif

Note: we don't work for WD. It was a casual chat.

My sources in Thailand also say the same thing that many component factories are trying to get their production up before 2012.

And yes Laptops & desktop prices are up by 5%, cos of this flood situation.

FYI Malaysia are temporary supplying eggs and meat to Thailand, usually we buy from them.

Is Buffalo reliable? And does anyone know the hdd inside is from which manufacturer??
*
If no hurry wait till next year.

Been using buffalo since 2006. so far no issues from friend and family that I recommended to.
They use every other HDD manufacture hdd, so can't tell exactly which is which, even for same model.

we are screwed yet again!

I do hope Samsung & hitachi can really compete with WD and thus reduce the crap coming out of WD!
