Hi, any CM 690 ii Adv users think that the CPU backplate hole is too small? I was thinking of cutting it larger and was wondering if anybody else did it.

One day I got bored looking at my CM690II chrome strip so I decided to strip it and refinish it with flat black paint. After some googling I found out the best way to remove the chrome is by using bleach. Little that I knew that the process took about a month to complete & I had to replace the bleach 3 times (total 3 bottles of 2L bleach, around RM4 each at carrefour. oh yes it's carrefour brand laugh.gif )

Chrome strip after 8-10 days

This one after more than 4 weeks and the excess grime has been removed using sandpaper. A total of 6 litres of bleach were used.

further close up. only bare plastic now. laugh.gif

This is how I spray paint the plastic strip.

The paint used. from the left is Samurai plastic primer and at the right is anchor brand spray paint (no 29 flat black)

The end result. colour matched with the case. biggrin.gif

New hardware, new cable management. I like the new PSU despite its a non modular & a bit difficult to manage. It looked much better than my previous modular PSU in my opinion.
