Well the trend is towards this linen fabric. So is the one in Granoff. But the design in Wardrobe is.... Indonesian. I don't have anything with the fabric choice and color. But Indonesian details...... Not that i have anything with Indonesians giving the current situation. Plus it would be out of place with a planned the Sabahan/ Sarawak ethnic wear i'm eyeing. hmm.gif

If the same one, i'm sure a kingsly sum. I'll check it out this weekend. I'm estimating 4 digits for the Wardrobe number.

Hahaha! Puasa time u want to scope out people meh? Anyway got see linen number there. But its either very lousy coarse linen or linen mixed with poly or something. It could even not be linen. I do not think there are any linen number in the stalls. But in BMO, there is this interesting French something fabric BM there.

Its definitely not. I have seen enough Indonesian Telenovela to know its not. Its definitely something that is referenced from there. I'm working now and can't find the pictures that clues it to that Wardrobe number.

Today i want to Gardens to check out again the Granoff linen Baju Melayu. There are some interesting things their design. The collars are high. Its about half inch higher than the normal one. It looks almost like a Chinese cheongsam collar but with 2 buttons. The collar is lined with another fabric presumingly cotton of another color. Few weeks back i saw a purple one. Today i saw a blue one. The cut seems traditional like mine. It cost........ well you have to enquire it. Now i'm very sure Wardrobe one will cost more than this. I'l check out Wardrobe one and report. I just want to check out the workmanship.

Also nearby ISETAN they have 2 window display with almost same idea as the Wardrobe one. The pockets are not patch type. And there are shoulder pads! The fabric is somewhat a mix of satin or polyester and rayon or such. Its available in 4 colors including black. Its price is RM 249 each set. And the biggest shock to me was.... its made by GMV, a local company thats more associated with The Store, Bintang, UO stores and such. Really unexpected.

I checked back all my pictures, but there isn't any that indicate linen ones. Maybe one of the shops in Campbell or Pertama has it. I didn't check them outthe last few weeks.

i think linen is too stiff for baju melayu,,,,bjm traditionally cut loose----we need thin fabrics to make up for excessive cloth----theres thin soft linen but its translucent it will looks like calvinloke white pants,,,,,its either soft silk blend / satin / single ply cotton-----

Linen is not stiff like cotton used for chinos. U have to own linen shirts to know. Linen looks hard because the fabric is coarse. So when stress is put on the cloth, the weaves does not slide against each other like most fabric does. Its like everything tries to stay in shape. In fact during wear linen holds its shape much more better than most fabrics. Only light coloured songket will show the skin. The dark colored ones won't.

If you ask me, i think its closest to songket. But its probably a bad comparison. A linen baju really looks good. I think Granoff would display it till raya. Go check it out.

WTF when I told you to be a pioneer and get a linen BM made you made all sorts of noises about it being way out there. And here you are now extolling the virtues of the linen BM.

Wow! Why r u getting worked out over my choices? Did i max out your credit card again daddy? laugh.gif I wanted a traditional satin one. I don't want that linen number. I said it since last month. What i was really impressed with the Granoff number is how they made the collar. U need to check that out. I did not notice that with the purple one. But this blue one really caught me there. If there was one regret i did not do with the current one, is having a high collar like that. Its amazing to me anyway. Maybe next year? icon_idea.gif

Next year design yourself The Ultimate BM. It should feel like wearing nothing and make teenage girls weak in the knees, causing their legs to buckle under them, especially when you are close, placing their mouths at the appropriate level.
