I am trying it at windows 7 professional and windows 7 starter, still no luck sad.gif

Btw, should I choose it to connect as disk drive as default?

Why don't you try ? Actually I never bother as I have no such issues. BTW what Android rom are you on ? Did you try another rom ?

Bro : I forgot to ask - when you flash thro PC you must always take out the sd card and simcard to avoid bricking device. If you have done this, I think your motherboard is fried ( term used by HTC tech ) as you similarly reported GPS issues. Try your luck and sent in , suggest you try HTC Singapore Service Centre at Harbour Court

Added on August 12, 2010, 12:17 amone weird thing is after i flash it to MIri rom... everytime i restart my device i still get chuckrom loading screen :S

1.Strange - Facebook updateson Streamyx 2-3 seconds and on my Celcom 3g - about 3-4 secs all updates will be loaded. I don't think is rom issue as you are using same rom as mine. Infact in all the various roms I tried, Facebook has never been a problem. You got many friends ??? I only have 100+ only

2. WM Facebook - some roms exclude ; just go google cab file and reinstall it

3. THis issue is because Chucky roms always leave behind his signature ; there is a way to get rid of it. So long I didn't used Windows Mobile , I cannot remember the program name - google at XDA ; there is a cab file you can run to remove this . The solution is given at Chucky rom section - it is in the earlier postings. If you have done a Task 29, such issues will never arise

why must be htc singapore at harbor court? hmm.gif

Cos they offer better service. and they would probably process your unit foc knowing you have hspl it. Several members in this forum had confirm that. They change my dopod u1000 motherboard foc when I honestly told them I screwed up SPL it then. I bought the dopod in kl but still under warranty. That was 3 years ago. You can try your luck if htc kl wants to charge you.

Seems like Windows Phone 7 on the HD2 would not be so possible. Perhaps a half baked version from the XDA chaps again ?

oo.. just wondering.. does the APN Settings will have any effects on my bill ? cuz i changed mine accordingly to the one provided by Shah (i think tat's him)... i remove the username n password to not set

and well i m running my hd2 wif iphone plan anyway.. so far no extra charges for a few months already (the digi guys said there will be but all of my frens who r using iphone plan but not using iphone like me haven kena yet also)
*
The APN settings is just to be used when the GPRS/3g data services is needed. It is just a data setting. Infact most telcos nowadays leave user name/password blank - less hassle for ueer to setup. Just need to know APN code will do. The user name/password is associated with the telco not phone user

benny, so you all have to delete the android folder every softreset??
*
NO, not necessary . But I know now the Windows build will affect it. I read so much about how Matt 1.5 was equally excellent, I decided to try it. On the card, I deleted all the files in the Android folder . I copied over Matt 1.5 files. I install the Android built - it was OK actually don't find much difference with my earlier Freystone. Then I noticed when I launch the Android boot after a reset, when the HTC logo was shown, the whole screen went blank. Just cannot reboot into Android. I tried again - same scenario. Then I reinstall the dual cab boot - it was OK and reboot successful.

To experiment further, I formatted the card and redo. Same old issues - cannot reboot , only a blank screen. Reinstall the dual cab then was OK.

Next step, I delete all the files in the Android folder, copied back the Froystone files - NO such issues. Every reboot was successful and the Android folder always intact.

So I concluded the Windows rom affects it as in both cases I was using the same Miri rom

Enough of experimenting, I am keeping the Freystone build

With htc messaging is default htc where the SMS is a separate screen, I don't like it and I prefer no htc messaging where the SMS is another folder in the mail application.
I find that no htc messaging the SMS performance is much faster

wanna ask, is Miri_Steve0007_EleganciaGTX_V2.0_FINAL a good ROM?
anybody using?
*
Good or not depends on your needs = what you want in the rom. Miri is one of the better developers - I have ried his roms several times. Other excellent cooks are Energy, Dutty, Topix, Laurentius etc. Each rom cook has develop their roms to meet different needs - you should compare all their features. In this rom Miri had team up with Elegancia who has provided a new graphical enhanced interface - some like it ; as for me I find it horrible

Infact you should read all the user comments about this rom and you will have a better idea - see their positive and negative comments. If you can accept the negative then go ahead. Some guys negative opinion is not necessary negative for others

No good ... wanna revert back to original rom, is that possible? thank
*
Just flash back - it will overwrite it. Suggest you do a TASK29 first before doing it : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=644781

If you find the XDA details too complicate , this is a very simple guide HERE

Hi Benny.I'm running on Miri ron n android 2.2 fyoyo l.everything is ok n theĀ  prb I face is difficulties on on back the screen as it does not respond or takes almost 7 sec to open. Also the the battle life.which is common right? Please share ur view.thanks
*
Which android version ? The homescreen swipes across all should be immediate - not even 1 sec. Battery life is poorer than WM , I guessestimate 10 % not issue for me as I have 3 batteries !!
Before you install your Window rom, did you do a TASK 29 - this usually helps a lot to remove all hidden partition files and give you a 100% clean partition to start flash new roms. Also the SD card, did you format first using the SD program I recommended

Now in the android rom, like xander question there no ringtone. read thru as guide also can't figure out what to do... any easiest way to had the phone ring when incoming call...thank
*
All ringtones and notifications are in :

sdcard/media/audio/alarms or music or notifications or ringtones

You can use any file explorer ( just download from market , most are free - eg Astro File Manager is the most popular one) to create these folders if not present. Execute the program - it works just like file explorer in windows. Use the edit tab to create /move/delete folders accordingly as needed. Copy into the ringtones folder any MP3 files you need as ringtone

If all fails, Install Auto Mount - you can google for the apk of this at the XDA forum ; some roms come with it

Hey guys,

can anyone link me to the step by step guide to make my SPL and rom and radio back to factory default?

What is the default radio and rom version?

I am in need to claim warranty for my screen.

a few spots of my screen display brighter white color than the others.

Please help.
*
Everything one in all guide here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=713977 . Just check up the appropriate links. You won't find anything simpler and better than this

Where and when you bought it ? There are so many types of roms, even in one region. There is no default - is different for different region. Best is ask your seller who sold to you. Actually you should have taked down all the radio and rom details first before you flash and have a backup copy of both radio and rom. Now only can guess based on area you buy and when you buy it.

stock rom doesnt come with radio 2.08 and above though

I have been testing several roms the last few days and I would say I am very happy with it. There is virtually no lag as the android port need to be execute from the sd card, it is wise to start with a newly formatted card. Copy back your windows data after you have successful porter over. It is a bit troublesome but is worth the extra time spent. Previous versions of these roms had slight issue like hard buttons sometimes lit up, sometimes off, slight freeze, slow scroll among screens etc. You will hear about all these in the earlier release. I would say the releases since after mid aug for those I tested are really very much improved. Infact I have been on android rom last 2 weeks and very happy with it
The test do it yourself. Verify it yourself. If you read the xda forum you will find all sort of comments, you don't have to believe it. Similarly you don't have to believe what I said here

What I can say is I am very happy with it and always say performance even better than my nexus. My latest rom Matt fryo 1.6b I recorded a quadrant reading of 1490 this is fantastic, not that it is important, just shows the android options had improved tremendously. The minimum I recorded in other android roms was at least 1250 and average around 1350

So far I tested darkstone froyo v1, darkstone hd2 froyo2.1, Matt froyo 1.5, 1.6, 1.6b, shubcraft 1.3, 1.4d plus few others. Those I listed are good . There are slight bugs you don't expect a perfect rom. You don't even have a perfect cook windows rom. So best is test yourself and find the one best suitable for you

I still maintain my claim that the android rom on the hd2 has given me 99.99% satisfaction.

Have you been changing roms ??? If so, reflash again but this time do a Task 29 . Task 29 will remove all traces of files which cannnot be removed thro hard reset. If you are still on original roms, the culprit is your installed programs. Best way is hard reset, reinstall programs again. Look at all the system utilities you have installed . I do not know whether you used any "ahem" system utilities - highly NOT recommended as these cracked programs do affect the phones stability. I have been using the HD2 on WM 6.5 since the first day it was launched till now already 8 months , I NEVER had such frustration. And I change and upgrade roms at least twice a month to followup with the latest releases!!! I'd say the HD2 is a BEST Windows Mobile I have ever used. The 2nd best is the HTC HD

You could also first look at any of the homescreen programs you installed; a tip - ALWAYS have only one program. Some people installed many types thinking by just mere removal of the earlier programs will do. I always advise if you like to experiment with homescreen and themes, do a hard reset if you need change to a completely different theme. These programs installed a lot of hidden files to system folder, some programs cannot overwrite earlier installs causing the hangups/freeze
