Hi..
I'm interested to join the Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics
Engineering (Hons) Programme. I've just completed my Foundation studies in HELP UniCollege. I've asked about the qualification stuff and the staff told me Uniten does accept the qualifications.

Anyone knows what are the entry requirements of the degree programme ? Do I need to go for an interview before i'm "officially" offered by them ?

I'm a ME student but most of my close friends and housemates are from EE department. I can help a little.

1) EMF = Im not sure about this. About Mr Halil, some say he is good but some say he is the opposite of good(in teaching). He is the guy behind the solar car.

2) Saiful = If you really want to master thermo, take him. But he give ALOT of pop quizzes and quite sarcastic when teaching. His assignments quite tough too. He demands his students to write down all the units in the calculation, if missing any units = potong markah.
Abd Halim = Not good.
Ibrahim = You wont understand a shit about thermo because this guy not good in teaching. But very lenient!
Hussein = You will understand what he teaches and quite lenient. To him, he dont expect us to get the correct answer all the time. As long we know the flow to solve the questions, he will give high marks but not full of course unless you get the correct answer. XD

3) Signal
Uncle Wong the best!!!! He is very knowledgeable and good in teaching.

THANKS thumbup.gif thumbup.gif FOR HELP! Dagger69

I am now taking EMF under Dr Ramli Jaya from what i've been told it doesnt really matter which lecturer you take as the subject is difficult as it is and the lecturers are more or less the same.

For Thermo i am taking under Ibrahim coz only one that doesnt clash..also i prefer better marking than teaching ability..i can learn pretty good from the textbook as is the case for E1 this sem.Although i do regret not being able to take under Hussein[IRAQ] or Saiful. From what i hear they are really good in their own ways.Oh well unsure.gif

For Signal i decided to take under Syed Khaleel Ahmed for timetable clash reasons.

Well looking forward to the next sem and getting this one over and done with..

All the BEST with studies everyone!!! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Dont you feel abit weird core subjects are offered in special sem which is like 7 weeks duration only. Wont this affect the core subjects like for example, lesser chapters to cover? Will it be fair to those taking core subjects during normal sem? Take for example Malaysian Studies and Bahasa Melayu Korporat. They offer these subjects during special sem and the students need not do as much work as those that take the subjects during normal sem.

Or the core subjects offered are for those who wanna retake them only? hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

FYI core subjects taken during special semester have double the classes in a single week. Meaning 3 credit hour with 3 hour of class per week will have 6 hours of class per week.

Still sounds fishy to me..esp for Engineering CORE subjects..i doubt that they can properly cover in 7 weeks...the students will really be under tremendous workload i would imagine. Maybe good for those that are repeating.

Btw i didn't see any language classes being offer during the special sem like Mandarin,Japenese, etc wonder why??

As said, though lesser during normal sem, it will be more stressful as it doubles your workload.

As for language class, can't really say. I remember some of my friends took German class before. Thought that was at least 2 years ago. Usually when it is not offered it's due to the low demand.

I took French last special sem ( taking 2hrs class 3x a week Mon,Tue & Wed) it was more a less a breeze.A really great way of boosting CGPA! brows.gif brows.gif
The language classes was really popular last special with the Foreigners ( no hometown to visit i guess..lol) One of my friends took French and German and got A's and another friend took French, German and Business English. The French and German classes were quite full last sem with about 30 students in each section. I can't see why there would be a lack of demand for the language classes??

So for Engineering CORE subjects (3 Credit Hour) we normally take 4hrs a week = 3hr Lectures and 1hr Tutorial.

So for this upcoming special sem would it be like 8hrs a week = 6hrs lectures and 2hrs Tutorial for Engineering CORE subjects??
