You don't really need to join a Clan in order to participate in a Tank Company smile.gif

Depends. 57mm Zis-4 gives more raw DPS. But has a very low alpha. (Alpha here meaning, damage per shot.) It's quite useful when you have the opportunity to continuously shoot at the enemy. Since it also has a pretty high accuracy and low aim time, using it as a sniper is viable.

85mm allows you to play peek-a-boo, and maybe surprise someone with your high alpha damage (for your tier). But to me, that's a bad idea since your tank is not made for peek-a-boos anyway, and the so-so accuracy is just a big turn-off for me.

57mm Zis-4 also can damage higher tier tank?

currently use 85mm and attempt to damage high tier but with some luck (after several shoot)

and, what are the medium tank purpose? ex : light tank = scout

ZiS-4 can damage Tier V heavies reliably. (it is a Tier V gun after all.) Tier VI heavies are hit and miss, but it should penetrate the sides quite easily. Anything in Tier VII is a crapshoot, but you rarely face those unless you're incredibly unlucky. If you do indeed face against those, flank and pray that you get an engine shot.

Mediums play very differently from lights and heavies. True, you can use them to scout, but that is not their primary purpose... at least in the low and mid-tiers. Generally your aim is to support heavies whenever possible, and if you can, try to flank enemy heavies. You also use your superior mobility to try and take important strategic points like a hill or crossroad, or even hunt enemy arty. This depends greatly on which mediums you're using though. T-34 do not play the same as PzIV, and both play very differently from M4 Shermans, so keep that in mind.

If you liked the T-28, wait till you get the T-34. Unfortunately, that tank requires a completely different tree to play. (The BT tanks line.)
