coz most of my friends got 1.8-1.6 this sem, thats why i need to know whether 2.0 or 1.7 is the border line. if some1 get below than border line, and he already got diploma, so any chance utm will give 2nd opportunity to repeat 1sem or kicked out to home?

mechanical. i dunno la what happened to em, after they got dip, now they showing no interest to study anymore. i told em, its hard to been in utm, we're lucky to be selected to be in here but they ignored me. i really upset and disappoint with em

yea bro, really bad result and i dont they gonna get kicked out or what. they knew already and they already experienced it when 3years in dip before this. but i really dont know wtf is going on with this kind of people. dota + movie + lepak + eat + sleep + futsal all the time, mostly sleeping. they didnt bother to go to class plus asking their friend to sign on attendance sheet. i no upset if they study in room if didnt go to class but not. i be lonely next sem

yeah, we're direct entry. pointer above 3 is quite ok, but this below than border, get KG sumore. u know, previous final exam in november ago, i start studying 1 week after study's week until exam. we start late on 23rd and these people start studying 22nd for tomorrow paper. what about 24th, 26th and 29th papers? even iq more than 150 also cant do that. they know these subject all core and hard but still relaxing all the time. i dont know man, really upset this kind of melayu laa..

1. nope, the room u're staying in, u'll stay there for 1 whole ACADEMIC year. every academic year u'll have to register for room
2. tuition fee is for your classes and lecturers teaching u. it's not your regular high school tuition classes where u go to skodeng amoi after school hours. hahaha

i'm ex-diploma politeknik. Just finished my diploma June 2010 with flying colours.

Then, in July i got an offer from UTeM (Unversiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka)
now, i am direct entry students (2nd years) . currently taking bachelor of mechanical engineering (Thermal-Fluid).

i have messed my 1st results. only 1.71 . maybe i had some of university cultural shock? so should i go on? or quit studying.

cos sometimes rooms may be rented out to others during holidays. camp participants, seminars, etc. u can still choose to rent the room to store your stuffs (cheaper rate than normal rate)

to be honest, it'll be very difficult. Not to say impossible, u can mend your pointers provided u get excellent pointers for rest of semesters.

Cuz many people easily score near 4 flat by just observing three standard rules

1. Pass up all assignments
2. Do past years papers
3. Ask/Beg lecturers for exam tips

that's all.

1.71? got kicked out or not? i dont think its due to cultural shock. mostly poli student underestimate the questions. they think poli exam = u exam which mean study example only can score. 1 more thing, poli's subjects really different compare to uni's subjects. i have few poli's friends and all i see these people only study last minutes and trying to be 'dont study also can score' person. i dont say they not smart during diploma, 3.6-3.9, really good result. well, imo, if u didnt get urself kicked out from utem, continue ur study, study hard + smart and enjoy uni's life. dont waste 1 year juz to 'reset' ur cgpa. i think thats the best

Added on December 15, 2010, 8:09 pmwell actually mechanical isnt really like that. the test kinda hard, no 'similar-example-questions' going to be asked in exam. every semester have different questions and studying past year questions still cant ensure u can answer all the questions. i didnt say its impossible to score in mechanical but its alil bit hard than what we expect

thermo-fluid really hard bro. i dunno maybe i dont like it, huhuhu.. u must be good in math especially calculus and derivation. plus, a good imagination might also gonna help alot

maybe need to push myself higher then my effort when diploma. hehe
