To UTM IT and Engineering (especially E&E and Mecha.) seniors...
Is there at one point, students have to forcibly use Linux? No Windows for the entire degree course? Can you live without Windows?

Yes. Will be a good experience. If you're a lecturer, please go ahead and teach it in full linux.

Learning about linux early is better than finding out about linux in your job smile.gif

i dont think there will be a situation where student forced to use linux for the entire degree course. for a specific subject/project maybe

but even if you not being forced, you should setup a vm or dual boot your laptop to one of the linux distro. familiar yourself with terminal and basic stuff

it will really help you a lot in your career, especially FoC students. prep yourself cool2.gif

Hey there. Im an ex medical student from UPNM and I quit last year. Im searching for a new course to join, and have my sights on applied sciences like BSC or Computer Science or Biotech. I came across UTM and found out that I dont need to login to UPU to join. Could I enroll/transfer with my foundation results from UPNM? How is the teaching? Is it in English? What about the ratio of students accrding to race? I heard that its a highly ranked uni, is it more costly than private unis? Will there be opportunities to do my masters overseas in the future? Pls enlighten me. Tq

1. Computer science and biotech now has merged into one faculty. Faculty of Computing. I'm an alumni of this fac. Before this it was FSKSM.

2. Yes the teaching would be in English as we do have international students.

3. Cost wise it would be the same as other IPTA's. If you are local no need to worry. It fairly cheap compare to private uni's.

4. Yes you should be able to continue master overseas. I remember last time my batch was the last one that have some issue with credit hours. And they already fix it in the new syllabus.

Ok I have already narrowed down my choice. I want to do a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedicine. How much did Computer Science cost in total by the way? Also I would like to know, hows the ratio of bumi to non bumi students? How is campus life, the dorms? Is it possible for a credit transfer from UPNM? At least to transfer the foundation? I finished 3rd year of medicine there then quit

I don't think you can't transfer foundation credits at all. Or you can call the fac for confirmation.

Hi,
Was just wondering on the difficulty level for UTMSpace.
I am considering to further my studies part time. Is it harder with the restrictions of limited weekend classes when compared to fulltime? 1-10 difficulty rating?

Refrain to enter TK97, TK79 and TK99 (MJIIT) in UPU because the fees are super high (RM 5000) not including hostel fees.
