update can be done via pc or OTA (data charge or use ur office wifi)

via pc u will need to download motorola update manager (automatically downloaded to ur pc when u connect to update portal in motorola website)
for OTA, go to setting-->about phone--> system update

to remove stoc apps, i used paid version to titanium backup
u can oso use root explorer
u can oso terminal emulator
u need to root to use these

remove app using ADB
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749166

remove app using root explorer
http://androidforums.com/eris-all-things-r...t-explorer.html
but google which stock apps r safe to remove

ALWAYS DO BACKUP BEFORE U PROCEED
after u remove the app, reboot ur hp
after i remove Vsuite.apk, i encounter forced close error
it disappear after i reboot

*proceed with ur own risk

yes it will but for web browser, messaging and some other applications only, the menu or home screen won't.

ok make up my mind. was looking at those htc aria vs milestone. Overall milestone win. Aria is good but screen 3.2 inch kinda turn me off and i think most android apps require min reso of 3.7" for it to run well if not mistaken. While for milestone i dislike the qwerty keypad but since i can opt for touchscreen keyboard, so problem solved.

anything shud i know before purchasing this phone? notworthy.gif

I think this will be my first and last Motorola phone, thanks to their slow 2.2 update for our region. Next phone might be Windows phone 7 tongue.gif

Just feel free to root it, it doesn't hurt much.
Just follow the steps, it easily to success.

If you still keep afraid of rooting the Milestone due to its warranty issue, you will not feel free to use its exciting aside out from the limit of Ori Apps, it won't unleash the other points/functions/powers of the phone.

BTW, MS still the most value buy phone within Android selection.

Of course, to say that, MOTOROLA is really the slow mo on updating their phone firmware based on its previous history too.
And MOTO is still playing its unexcited attitudes of updating firmware to all its MOTO fans. That is undeniable.
MOTO again put itself on the "KING" ego throne & proud confidence just because of Gaining back the market with only ONE magical Android phone (Like the V3 history). This will lead MOTO back to the culture again.

Never deny that the "Value Buy" factors, MS becomes a big user group.
And the advantages is, you can find many modding from the BIG Group of Amateurs, even you will easily to find the solution if you catch in problem.

Of course, MOTOROLA will lose it competitive with the up coming new model due to no more "Value Buy" factors that catching people.
The only left for MOTOROLA is its Phone Design that mostly many people had lose their eyes on it.
On outlooking, Samsung is much better looking than MOTO.
On function & firmware, HTC plays better than MOTO.

For my advice, since you have bought this phone, you just play GAW-GAW that what you pay for.
On the upcoming 1 or 1½yr, it is time to change another newer phone technology too.

So no need keep much Sayang with the phone. It will become older.

To say that, from what the MOTO behave on MS about 2.2 firmware updates, we can see that MOTO is forced to make the 2.2 firmware for MS phone.
The only reason is just because it has great number of MS users. If MOTO refuses to update, that will bring the huge group blame on MOTO. And maybe cause boycott issue.

So from this view, you will see the 2.2 MS firmware will be the last & only update for MS user.
Then its life span will be ended within 1yr & replacing with other Android soon. Of course the Android 3.0 on next year.

So don't too much hope on it. Just play GAW-GAW that you like. It will value back to your satisfactory on pay off.

That's it.
