Try here.
http://www.zabihah.com/ Its a list of halal restaurant. but do be careful and read them properly since some are only claimed by their staff rather than really having a Halal cert |

Just say your a vegetarian and non-alcoholic. Not all meats or cooking are halal. By saying that at least it'll be okay.
Or just eat fish. Last time i went New Zealand i just have plain smoked salmon. Yumm. |

One thing for sure, they would not have halal sign to look for. That why I'm so scared because I have no idea how to judge whether its halal or not. But i remember my lecturer said if find Jewish stall sure halal one??? |

There are also many middle-east and moroccans restaurant around, but do be careful as some do serve wine. That why I'm so scared because I have no idea how to judge whether its halal or not. But i remember my lecturer said if find Jewish stall sure halal one??? You know when I was working in Dubai, the Hotels there was serving pork! I know cos it was clearly label. It was amazing see Muslims and the mat saleh eating together at the same table! Only thing is that the Muslim dun take the stuff...so you go figure... |

u definitely cannot enjoy fastfood because my friends said they are not halal. i think abit hard to look for halal meat there, but you can substitute your meals with seafood & vege all the time.

Which part of Australia? If in Goldcoast area i suggest u book hotel near or in Surfer's Paradise. Last time i when there and stay in Courtyard Marriot. Just across the hotel there a malaysian restaurant. Cant remember the name. Maharani i think. or sumtin. u can ask for nasi goreng kampung roti canai, sambal belacan. Nasi goreng kampung is about 13AUD. But the taste superb...damm good. Makes me think about home town. Next corner of the hotel got chinese restaurant it says halal food but i didnt had the chance to try it. Another things is dont go for fast food like McD coz got non halal part there. You can also find Asian food stall but u have walk abit. That 1 halal too. No worries if u in Aussie. the people there very nice and helpful. Many malaysian and singaporean family spend time there. So u dont have to worry about halal food

QUOTE(kazekage_09 @ Jun 17 2010, 11:32 PM) Hi, Someone already mentioned zabihah.com so that's a good start. Very few fast food places are halal.I am planning to have my honey moon maybe in australia or switzerland or anywhere (haven't decide yet I'm a Muslim so I wonder how to find any halal store when people in oversea? I mean they surely didn't have halal logo right.. Next, understand the differences between kosher and halal. I eat kosher meat but other fellow muslims don't. It's up to you, however kosher is typically more expensive than regular meat and in some places are more difficult to find than halal meat Finally my recommendation is go vegetarian/fish for the duration. I did it for weeks at a time when I was travelling and mostly spent time at small towns in France. It's not hard, the traditional muslim scholars were mostly vegetarian if you read islamic history. This is probably healthier too. |

Its not so hard to find halal food nowadays.
Westerners are much more sensitive to personal choice of food. They have koshers, vegetarian, etc. For US products, you can look for "U" (No Animal Substance), "D" (Dairy only), or "K" (Kosher). Even airlines nowadays, when you book your ticket online, one of the options for foods are "Muslim foods". And there are fast food branches that are halal in US (there is a halal KFC branch in Chicago), UK, Australia (halal Subway branch), Singapore (even got halal cert), and lots of other countries. Muslims migrate alot and they are everywhere in this world. Remember, not just Muslims have restriction. Others also have, like cannot eat meat, cows, living things, eggs, etc. Even that don't prevent anybody from travelling, right? Beside zabihah.com, you can also try finding Muslims restaurants or mosques (go to the mosque and ask) at http://www.islamicfinder.com At the worst, you can choose to be vegetarian for awhile when travelling. Islam doesn't make it hard on yourself. This post has been edited by abu_adi: Jun 18 2010, 12:38 PM |

I love those wafer thin slices of lamb with hot peanut sauce soup minus the eyeballs. This post has been edited by DarkNite: Jun 19 2010, 09:42 AM |

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Jun 19 2010, 02:21 PM) Western China's main inhabitants (besides the Han Chinese) are the Uighurs. Uighurs are Muslim Turks, while Huis are Muslim Chinese (with ancestry from Persia/Arabia etc). The best and safest way for a Muslim while travelling abroad is to go vegetarian. Take it as a way to purify your mind and spirit, away from the intoxications of meat. It's much healthier too. |
