Actually, unless you are a hardcore 24/7 torrenter, the maximum cap is quite fair. Daily caps would be the biggest problem, but still can be managed if you monitor your usage and I believe the router provided allows you to check those statistics.

The only real issue here is that about the router's security. Only people who bother to do research online will know the potential danger and the ones who don't are the ones who suffer.

Well if you are watching a lot of HD stuff,youtube,mmo'ing,sharing connections or combination then the caps can be a problem.

As usual, TM will attempt of depriving me of a high speed connection again... It is intentionally done to make sure I remain with 1 Mbps @ RM 88 a month...

UNIFI Coverage

My case: checked the site 2 weeks ago, but nothing mention the unifi is available at my place (kota damansara pju6), tried my luck to call unifi customer service and they confirmed i can subscribe the service... rclxms.gif blush.gif now with vip 5, quite sastify with the speed, no lack to watch youtube hd... tongue.gif but iptv sucks...

My guess is try your luck to call in and it may surprise u...

Btw, they seems to judge the service availability by your streamyx phone line number... cool2.gif

@Moogle Stiltzkin,

I agree with you with higher cap raised, but not with the idea of no cap. 10Mbps with 24/7, could give you about 3.2TB of bandwidth. Imagine, without the cap, everyone would be hitting 1TB easily and with the constant hardware price dropping, it's really not a big issue now to have 1TB HDD on standby every time.

Without cap would mean TM has to do overselling. When they do, the cycle repeats itself, Streamyx users will start complaining slowdowns. I believe you do understand that most of our traffic are not locally transmitted, rather we waste a lot of bandwidth to US and EU which, their bandwidth too are not cheap.

Also, I don't think in anyway UniFi is a premium service, since no where in their TOS they have considered it a premium service.

Other than the cap thingy, I agree everything else including the nasty security with routers.

Not everyone will reach 3.2TB a month at the same time all together.

I sometimes I can DL up to 20-40GB a month on my 384kbps line, sometimes on some month I barely touch 3GB. Monthly cap is the most silly thing especially the quota cannot be bring over to next month.
