yeah! finally updated to 2.1

i have sync the fb pic to my contact but there is no picture in my contact list. Do i need to key in the email address in contact then only the picture from fb upload into it?

I hv no idea bout tht as I didnt sync fb contact.. My fb got soooo many ppls, no use add them all lol

at first, I thought the contact pic is link to the fb profile pic according to the email address.
therefore i added the email address to contact, but it not working....

now i know how it works.
if your contact name is same as the name in fb, it will sync together with the picture.

If no, can i update myself from the SE website i.e. from different country?

The update is base on the customization code in the phone..... therefore if the update is available for your cust.code you can get the update anywhere...

Base on this forum it seem like the update is not available malaysia cust.code. If you want update now you can follow the instrustion below

So what do i have to do to update to 2.1 without voiding warranty.........Just wait until the official update is released?

Yes, you need to wait for the official update for your phone.

However, I saw some post (over this forum and other forum), you can recover/swap back your phone to original cust.code using update services if you undo what you have done previously. hence you can get your warranty back.... but I'm not sure is true or not.

p/s: you need the root access to swap to other cust.code, however the root access for 2.1 still not available.

surprisingly, i am able to upgrade to 2.1 without rooting the phone.
all i did is connect to wifi, press on update search. then there is a message shows that update is available then i connect it to the pc and download it.

Anywhere can you share your customization code



Here is how to check your customization code:

1. Lock the screen of your phone. Press the menu button (left button) so that the screen is lit but still locked.
2. Press the home (central button) and back (right button) in following sequence:

home-back-back-home-back-home-home-back

Try several times if you can not do it the first time. when successful secret menu will appear. Go to Service info->Software info and find "customization version"

after upgrade to 2.1, there is no chinese keyboard input.
but the phone can set to chinese language. so funny.
anyway on how to get chinese keyboard input?
