do take note that some of us are in the UK

Unlike America, all the price in UK are VAT inclusive so you pay for the price with tax included.

If your friend is coming here for a visit and has the opportunity to go to apple retail store and get one, he or she can claim back the VAT when flying back to Msia provided your firned ask for vat claim form from the retail store.

as for online order you cant claim back the tax.

499 pounds for 16gb or 599 pounds for 32gb

However, i wish you luck as I have a very tough time to secure a unit or 2 in retail store and the waiting list is damn long.

well, its better to ask your friend to get a pay as you go microsim from O2 and try activating it and make sure it works fine before shipping it back

Just a piece of advice as i shipped one back to Malaysia without checking and it has problem with activation. not really impressed with it as we got through a lot of trouble getting it fixed with apple UK

Yes you need microsim card to activate it. Tell your friend to go to o2 shop and get a free pay as you go microsim for iPhone to activate it.

Using mine now on maxis lol. No prob with my self cutter microsim

you can use maxis sim card 2 activate it also. i doubt his friend have any microsim so the easiest way to get one is from o2. you dont need to have only o2 microsim but any microsim will do to activate since its sim free


they will ask you in store. just say you want the sim free ones.

I have bought 5 units from UK and all is in Malaysia right now

yes as there has been no locked phone in msia yet lol

just tell them its mobile phone instead of marking it as iphone for postage lol

about 3 weeks i think for the waiting list. altho this may vary depending on the store waiting list. if it is long, then you have to wait longer since stock allocated for each store is the same
