FYI, only the black 16gb is available ..both white and blacks for 32gb and white for 16gb are gone The Plan from ORANGE
Plans: ORANGE vs o2 Details: Orange vs o2 Summary:
VodafoneClick here or hereBenefits of the iPhone purchased from the UK» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 1. VAT Rebate 2. Officially Unlocked Q&A: 1) Can i use it in Malaysia? YES, you can with any simcard from Maxis, DIGI, celcom etc. 2) Warranty? https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/871684/+4**Please take note: you DO NOT have to cut your sim ala DIY -upgrade to a micro sim @ RM25 over at maxis (for one or at the moment) to ENJOICE calls +data! QUOTE(yezhacolic @ Jun 16 2010, 10:25 AM) Bro post it here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1381121/+1640. And UK set is locked set not official unlock. IT WAS A FULLY UNLOCK SIM FREE IPHONE 4!!! That's why it was selling for 499pound. We can claim back the VAT tax which is about 17.5% if you were visitor there and plan to bring it back... So it was a good deal if you have someone over there...

The main motivator to keep the thread viable and useful is to keep it packed with information regarding a specific country release, and also a viable source/person who can provide up-to-date info from the country of release itself. For example, Nokia did so in Australia, because he responsibly kept his Australian iPhone thread alive with valuable information and was himself a source where you can get Australian iPhones. Information for information sake is only good as a passing read unless this thread has someone who can keep it updated with the UK-specific info up-to-the-minute and better if this thread can find someone who can be the source of getting the UK units itself back to KL for the audience here.
So far, updates on UK iPhones have been very very sparse, partly because the iPhone was locked to O2 and CarPhoneWareHouse. Now that Apple themselves has thrown the door wide open for unlocked iPhones, this is a good opportunity for SOMEONE IN UK to become this thread's correspondent to update everyone here about the UK iPhone. What will keep the interest alive too is his/her ability to provide options to bring back the iPhone for public consumption in Malaysia. Otherwise, if these prerequisites are not met, I don't think it is worthwhile opening a specific UK-iPhone thread.

disclaimer: this post is out of honesty (and with no intention of flattering myself).
opening a new thread is not merely a community service but carries a certain degree of responsibility.
because the first few posts reflect vital information, and only TS can amend them (unless we have to seek help from admin/staff/mod)
hence if you only have bits and pieces of information, I would rather someone who is well informed with regard to the UK's situation, to update us.
p/s I'm not even familiar myself despite the fact that I used to study in the UK for three years.

update: iphone 4 pre-order in UK now ships in July 2nd as for reserve for store pick up, it varies between stores. Most of the 32gb model are sold out I am still awaiting news from the carriers as they have yet to release their iPhone 4 "killer" plans (since all carriers are stocking in iPhone and are competing with each other)

I forgot where i see the iPhone 4, coz im planning to get the 45pound per month and the phone is free. *drool* 45 pounds per month is very expensive. i would get lower contract plans (25-35 pounds) unless you really call a lot. I rather pay for subsidised phone than paying so much for contract. It is better in long run. Plus you will need to wait till your contract ends to unlock the phone* (need to verify this as I still don't know the status of iphone 4 whether it will be locked by carrier or not on monthly plans. I assume it will coz if not it will not keep you from jumping to other carriers) QUOTE(Masamune @ Jun 16 2010, 05:36 PM) How do u know this? Orange UK has announce their iPhone price planNot really that attractive to me. Maybe i just stick to the current plan to get sim free phone QUOTE(Masamune @ Jun 16 2010, 11:09 PM) lol i still understand the tax thing.. =s You, as a visitor outside EU country, come to EU and buy stuff like branded handbags (lotsa malaysians do this) which is more than 300 pounds (i think somewhere around there, i cant remember) can claim back the VAT (value added tax) at the airport. Its like singapore GST. Before you fly back, you can go to the VAT claim counter and claim back your VAT (in cash or cheque). But you need a VAT form for it i think. You probably need to ask for VAT form from Apple. This post has been edited by chizzu: Jun 16 2010, 11:27 PM
