bcos their teeth too long they cannot eat lor.. so become thinner lor..

but very weird wor.. my GPs all still enjoy eating wor.. never like hw u said.. becoz of teeth too long then dn wn to eat..

i dn know shud trim or nt.. coz they just look okai for mi..dn seems lik hv any problem also.. i worry la if bring them trim teeth...
coz my babies are penakut.. even the hair dryer sound also they takut ady...

if u c ur pig not eating d .. chance be .. it already quite serious.. i jus throw in a wood stick for them to chew on.. sometime play tarik tali using the stalk of the hay which they seldom eat.. they like to tarik and chew chew 1.. so it is a way to help the process..
if eating is fine.. and there is no sign of drolling.. then should be fine lor.. jus remember to provide lot of hay and giv them hard food to chew on.. should do fine d..

Suha already gave birth just now! i can the bloody clump in the cage..her feets got red..2 babies...

I bathed my Zizou with babyjohnson & vinegar today, but the moving white dust is still there. When his body is wet, i can see a lot of very tiny brown spots on his body. Any idea what's wrong with him?

Just get them to Dr. Yeoh already!

I have few question:

1. Roughly how much for a guinea pig for home breed?
2. Can guinea pig put togehther with hamster?
3. how long(old) guinea pig startt mating?
4. Have to wait how long only baby born???

1. It depends for the home breeder and the breed/color of the GP itself. it can range from rm50 to hundreds per GP.
2. NO NO NO~! They are friendly with each other but the size difference is too bog plus they are different in terms of food and behavior. I also once read that hamster's scent is not a favorable thing for GPs. Please do not mix them, with rabbit oso cannot (i see some pet shopt mix them together...got really angry when i see that...T_T)

3. Controlled breeding suggests the female must be at least 4 months old with weight 450grams or more. It would be risky to breed them at too early age or if the female is not physically fit to be pregnant. Breeding is usually not recommendable, as it have many complications and needs extra precaution.

4. Around 2 months.

Informative himura. Tq. Yes its true gp dont like hamster when i mix my gp and my golden winter, my gp run away from tt hamster.
Next time i'll try mix my gp with my kaloi sabah fish. Hehe.

white moving thinggy is lice.. brown spot moving- mites.. double deal.. tis 1 u need to c dr. for revolution application liao.. but while u look for the proper dr. at penang.. continue the vinegar treatment.. warm water plus vinegar (ratio 1:1) rendam ur pig for 5-10 minute.. in doing so get a old toothbrush and brush off the foreign moving object(FMO).. dont do tis everyday though -->i mean the bathing.. do it two times a week... after the bath rinse again with warm water and dry ur piggy off with a hair dryer and while doing so comb its fur/coat .. u should c those FMO fall off..

tq2. being a new gp pet owner without knowing any vet is a problem when my pet infested with lice. I came to the pet shop where i bought him, the assistant suggested me anti flea dog collars and flea drop for dogs. Lucky i got the internet and this forum to get all the informations needed before buying the pet.

My experience treating lice using baby oil. Next time i will use olive oil as xavi said baby oil is mineral based and harder than olive oil. I dont bath my gp that time bcoz i am afraid to bath him until now (now, i force my wife to bath him and i help her). I put the oil using my finger not pour a lot on his body. At first i use my finger and put on the spot where the lice stay. I found that the lice like to stay at the rosette (abbysinian breed got this). When i put the oil on the rosette, they run to other part of the body . Lastly, i put the oil on all over his body except face and ear. I take time so that my gp not so stressed eventhough i feel his stressness that time. After putting oil, i let him alone in his cage about 15 to 20 (i think) minutes and after that i swept lap2 using dry towel and brushing him slowly using toothbrush. After that i clean all the stuffs i.e towel, brush and the cage and made new setup for the cage. I think i repeat the 2nd and third days but only using my finger on the spot where lice stays and lap2 using towel and brush. I can see the improvement starting from the 2nd day. Eventhough, the wet effect by the oil stay about a week bcoz i didnt bath him.

In my opinion using baby oil and vinegar bathing are two different treatments. If u run both treatments at the same time it can make yr gp stressed. If u can see vet just see vet. Last time i didnt see vet bcoz i didnt know any vet here in jb. But if u still want to alternatively treat yr gp, u do your best for your gp. Good luck.

These pictures remind me when i was in my childhood. Every morning before go to school my mum put hair oil on my hair. The smell of the hair oil made me active and not sleepy

That means gp doesnt like to belak on his owner, if he can stand he stand until terkencit. I think he bite u bcoz he want to trim his teeth

Gp give signs or sounds when he need something. For example my gp Jojo make sound wheek2 if he want vegie. But i think when he grow up in the future he will say saya nak makan sayur!! hehe

Thanks guys, the brown spots are only visible when his body is wet & it's not moving. Anyone feeding their guinea pigs with vitakraft here? Is it good for the guinea pigs? I'm mixing vitakraft with hagen for Zizou but he doesn't like the hagen pellets.
