Gamer's Hideout told me that the keyboard bundle is region locked (ntsc-u) so they stopped accepting pre-orders for it. However, they will be selling the keyboards seperately for asia region.

Can anyone speak for online play? Does it lag ridiculously with people from the States? I remember playing RB1 with a friend from the States... didn't turn out too good.
For the click lazy, USD279.99 pre-orders begin 1st Jan 2011 and shipping 1 Mar 2011. That's when we graduate from plastic toys.
Thanks for that piece of news.
Next question on my mind would be whether the hardware is region-locked? From what was posted above, it would seem that the keyboards are. If that is the case, then it could be another long wait for the Asian version. *sigh*

I think you may have misread what i posted. The keyboard itself is not region locked. It's just that the keyboard bundle is only available for the US - ie it comes with a US version of the game. In asia, you can buy the keyboard and the game seperately. I'll be picking mine up when it ships to GH and playing it on my asian RB3. Controllers are never region locked. There's no technology out there to lock them to specific regions.
Speaking of which, i kinda like how the road challenges are tailored to the type of DLC that you already have in your system. So far, I've played lego rock band, queen, foo fighters and bob marley challenges on RB3 as part of the world tour. Finally got my lazy ass in gear and exported Green Day: Rock Band onto RB3 so I'm quite curious to see how that expands the challenges. One thing for sure, after years of going through songs on the rock band 1 playlist its nice to have better sorting options for my 400 songs on RB3.

Hmm if I get that then...
1. I'd finally have a real guitar(that works) of my own, which I've been meaning to get for a long time. 2. I'd be able to play Pro guitar which will help me learn more songs(I mean I'm decent at guitar but still, learning tool is learning tool) 3. I get the MIDI adapter so I can use my real keyboard for RB3.

Ok thanks for the clarification. However, wonder why GH stopped accepting orders. I can confirm that the US version of the game works on Asian console as well, so technically RB3 US version is NOT region-locked. Probably GH couldnt confirm it at the time and didnt want to risk it.

Well as far as peripherals go all hardware is region free IIRC. Also US version is unlocked? OH GEE, IT'S NOT LIKE THEY COULD HAVE DONE THAT FOR RB1 AND 2.

US doesn't have the bundle as well. The keyboard and game are separate SKUs.

My theory is that all Rock Band related Xbox Live downloads(including the RB2 import) is all region free, as before RB1's release I was getting ready by downloading all the DLC I could, it all worked. Same goes for Beatles Rock Band DLC and AC/DC import(which I took from an Australian copy)
