You can plug a real keyboards and drums if they have MIDI out. You'll need this thing:
![]() ...which is a MIDI adapter made by Mad Catz. |

Still no price for the Fender.... hmmm $199?
Added on June 18, 2010, 6:24 pm Video showing the new features of RB3, including the Mad Catz guitar and Fender Squier Strat simultaneous play with the game and with amp. Nice, you can import songs from RB1, RB2, Lego RB and Green Day RB into RB3, plus the DLCs. This post has been edited by MK84: Jun 18 2010, 07:06 PM |

QUOTE(Kidicarus @ Nov 3 2010, 09:36 AM) http://admin.fender.com/rockband3/exclusive/ For the click lazy, USD279.99 pre-orders begin 1st Jan 2011 and shipping 1 Mar 2011. That's when we graduate from plastic toys. ![]() USD279.99 + another USD29.99 for the Mad Catz MIDI adapter. Just under 1k mark without shipping and tax. QUOTE(terranova @ Nov 3 2010, 11:07 PM) Ok thanks for the clarification. However, wonder why GH stopped accepting orders. I can confirm that the US version of the game works on Asian console as well, so technically RB3 US version is NOT region-locked. Probably GH couldnt confirm it at the time and didnt want to risk it. US doesn't have the bundle as well. The keyboard and game are separate SKUs. |

First impression of the Mad Catz Mustang
![]() Size comparison with the Mad Catz Fender Telecaster and 360 controller. 1. It's light, not much heavier than the Telecaster but more so compared to the Hofner Bass from Beatles:RB. 2. The fretboard buttons are all the same size, no problems if you're moving from the 5-button RB/GH guitars to it. Those familiar with a guitar will take some time getting used to it. 3. Strumming strings are nylon I believe, very sensitive. They give 2 Medium Fender picks. 4. The Fretboard module is modular and removable, hopefully anyone would be able to buy a replacement fretboard in the future if its busted. IMHO, the Mustang is great for anyone who has no real guitar experience and wanting to move up from Standard to Pro Guitar mode. Those who have guitar playing experience might want to wait for the Fender RB3 Squier Strat instead. Because the strings and buttons are all the same size, finger placement takes a bit of training to get used to since you can't differentiate between strings based on feel alone. |

It's here. Unfortunately the MIDI adapter shipment got delayed to tomorrow so can't test it just yet.
![]() The box. ![]() Clear caution on the box for XBOX users. Apparently the in-store demo units in Best Buy has working navigation feature for their XBOX 360s. ![]() How it's packed. That's it besides a few spacers. No foam support or bubble wrap. If you intend to ship this from US I would suggest paying extra and get your shipping agent to pack the box with extra bubble wrap or foam. ![]() The guitar. ![]() It's an Indonesian strat. ![]() Size comparison. From left : Mad Catz Fender Telecaster, Mad Catz Fender Mustang, and the Squier Stratocaster. Rest of the unboxing pics here. This post has been edited by MK84: Mar 7 2011, 05:26 PM |
