Contract wise you will not be employed as a clerk, in fact if there are no post then you will be released from the bond. But JPA as the biggest employer in Malaysia will have some vacancies for you.
*
yes. and that vacancy must just be an office clerk if they cannot find anything else for you.

just need to see how lucky you are.

"Clerk" does not restrict you to just a clerk, it can just be a desk job with very little hands on relevant experience.
I do hope its not really that bad but the current situation is that there seems to be an oversupply of such graduates locally and most are not employable in the private sector and these are the graduates who would be priortise for hands on experience for fast promotion prospects.

At the end of the day, there is nothing in black or white on where or how you will be employed but a bond is a bond and you will have to fulfil your side of the bargain. I f you are sponsored by Sime Darby, Shell or CIMB, at least you know what to expect.

Thanks, mumeichan. Everything you've told me is really helpful and I'm definitely gonna discuss this with my parents later. My mom was the one who sent me here to ask for advice. smile.gif

IMO, it's much easier to convert your PIDN to PILN rather than to get PILN out of the blue after your A-Levels.

Just have to ask, do you know anyone who's done this before? And are you a JPA scholar yourself? You seem to know so much about the scholarships. smile.gif
*
I do not know anyone who specifically converted PIDN to PILN. However, I know other cases that are roughly similar. I also know for sure that JPA is willing to consider appeals of any sort, it's just hard to convince them to grant your request.

On the internet, even a cat can tell you he's Bill Gate and that's he's the shadow president of America. Now, I'm actually just a college dropout. I can only guide you to the best of my knowledge, but you can and should do your own research for self-assurance.

That of course is a question you have to ask your contract and your sponsors.

Also, people don't spend a hundred thousand on you to employ you as a clerk. Even if there is a contract binding you to work with your sponsor, people have common sense.

actually i won be looking at which uni is better but the goverment bond.

for engineering it will be 6 years bond, or is it 4 years?

honestly i do not know where can you work after you graduate.

because the contract says that you have to work in GOVERNMENT companies. GLC also cannot. correct me if i am wrong.

so please ask yourself, do you even know any government owned engineering firm?

i have heard stories of JPA engineering graduates getting a job as a clerk once they graduate.

but of course, you get free and very good education, so no loans to worry about, albeit a very low paying job.

your choice.
*
spot on zstan. Not necessarily clerk jobs but they might place scholars in some irrelevant field with no hands-on.

TS i think it depends on what you want really? whether you want to work in msia in the future (then you can take up the scholarship) or you might wanna try sg. And, sometimes skin colour makes a difference if you know what i mean.

But, are you sure u can get into NUS/NTU? it's not easy. It's harder than to get to the UK unis lol

Hi guys. I got offered PIDN to do PERSEDIAAN SUNWAY COLLEGE - MONASH UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA CAMPUS ( 18 BULAN).
Im a lil bit confused but it's MUFY isn't it?
And I applied for Social Science but Im now offered to do Science. ==

1. Can I appeal to do Arts? (I was in Science stream but I have no passion for Science now xD)
2. Does it mean that if I completed MUFY, I'll have to go Monash(M'sia campus) to do my degree or I can choose to go another uni?
3. Overseas uni don't accept MUFY, do they?
4. The scholarship includes all fees from Pre-U up to degree?

Thanks in advance ><

1. Call up JPA to ask
2 & 3. MUFY stands for Monash University Foundation Year... Means only Monash will accept that
4. Yup, provided u meet the minimum grades set by JPA during foundation

^ actually MUFY is accepted by quite a few other Aussie universities. Check individual websites for details.

NUS NTU not that difficult to gain entry if you're a malaysian, provided your results are competitive. It's said to be easier for a competitive student to gain entry to NUS/NTU than UM.

It should be noted that getting offers is not quite the difficult task. The difficult task is securing the financial backing to attend it.

Sorry to hear that. However, applying using A-Levels or STPM is the no.1 way to get your Singaporean university applications rejected.

you should call jpa to be sure.Probably it's MUFY.

1. Call JPA, only they can answer you surely for that.
2. Usually if they send you to do MUFY and since it's PIDN they will ask you to go to Monash Sunway.
3. Since MUFY is a foundation programme from Monash which is part of the Group of 8, almost every single University in Australia accepts it. You can use it to go to a lot of IPTS here in Malaysia as well.
4. Usually yeah provided you meet JPA minimum requirements throughout the programme, they will pay for all your fees.

A fren who applied PILN was not successful but was offered PIDN in a local university to do accounting. The course fees is less than RM50K for the duration of the course but the bonding is 4 years.

She's a straight As student almost with a perfect 10A+(except 1A). I have suggested to her to think carefully as she's a brilliant student with a bright future and she should not just take the scholarship but should also consider the 4 years period which may play a significant part in her future path.

On the other hand, does it really matter? Despite any adversity, you can never keep a good guy down.

Care to comment?
