what's the logic behind putting coin/water bottles on satellite?

coin doesn't absorb sound wave but instead reflect it hmm.gif
*
You imagine a board vibrating and you put your hands on to stop or reduce it.

that's because our hand is soft, but coin is hard, so it just work for satellite casing that is made of plastic but not wooden?
*
it works for wooden enclosure too, coin is because it is more dense, sticking or putting it there makes that part of the enclosure denser than other part.

I just got S530D from Sri Computer this afternoon, man, it's really fking heavy!

Seriously, I really like the bass produced from this speaker, not too much and not too less, not muddy and not distorted, it's solid and just right in place!

However the tone produced was not as good as expected, the songs played quite packed, can't listen into more details. Perhaps needs more burn in?
*
Yes you need burn in, but before and after might not have amazing big difference depends on how you find it.

NOt too sure about C3 as i doesn't own 1,only tested at LYP. But i believe the atp3 is lower class than a C3. I only got CS21, ATP3 and the MX5021 to test. No doubt the 5021 bass win hands down. The S530D is loud, but only the bass was not there. I just worry that the Sub is giving problem.  rclxub.gif

Disconnect one of the polarity on each of the satellite, let the woofer sound only, see is it really not functioning properly or not.

what's the purpose of pairing an amp to the speaker you using? is it suppose to give speaker more power and louder? isn't that will spoil the driver?

or the amp can give better sound quality?

sorry, noob here who dont know much about this field
*
Should be using the DAC function, not the amplifier function. Pairing with amp can kill the S530D amplifier by overloaded input, and never give better sound quality.

Want more bass then choose M3400, e3100 is smaller on woofer but the satellites seems to have better sound compare to M3400. M3400 has wired volume controls for convenience, e3100 stuck at woofer there.

Does not matter with the age, as long as it sounds great you'll never regret it.

So no worries, do audit 1st before you buy.

is there any speaker stand recommended for my HCS2330 satellite?

i dont want expensive one, but cheap, not big size and got adjustable height
*
Make yourself a stand using some stiff material such as board laugh.gif

Another thing to share with edifier users, if want a little more performance from the speaker without modding, you can find something lift the interconnect from ground. In my case i done like this:

Remember also try stay far from power cables and let it as less contact to wall or anything.

I should quite easy to find the difference on Edifier speakers, the hints is the sound more relaxed and like floating up.

Theory behind this? i can't really understand it, it is about cable resonance or static electricity affects it. At first i thought this was a extreme troll then i tried it on a hi fi equipment, and it really got me stunned.

somehow my average-fi NAD302 + Sony SS D201 combo did notice such difference.
tried letting it go straight or even lift it up like how cosef says... all of them did get minor changes... and I don't like it XD

somehow I like it's sound by bundling them into messy wire position... to me it's like clean laugh.gif
maybe it's just me but lol it's my personal preference whistling.gif

I did notice more grainy on the sound after i lifted it up. laugh.gif

Overloading the input voltage will kills the amp, when overloading amp power and loud volume will overheat the voice coil in the speaker if the speaker cannot handle such high wattage. Not that easy to kill Edifier speaker because thier quality control is really good. I remember i had burned in 5 hours straight with loud volume 200hz and no problem to my speaker, while my friend Z2300 burn in moderate loud volume for 2 hours had its voice coil killed.

Oh yea about the lifting stuff, lift up interconnects and speaker cables will give bigger effect. I had mine lifted both and sound smoother and more open compare to lifting interconnect only.

They like clubbing SPL few hours a day, thats enough to make me killing them....

And when you hear a system has slow sounding, just consider it is blur....the BPM of the song is still same, but the details are lost make you feel it slow. nod.gif
