I think Alex is going to be called up for the next international friendly. we are already short of center backs, i just hope Alex dont get injured.

Ugh, Lampard is likely to miss Arsenal and MC match.
I don't think Lampard can really replace by Josh,he is still too young though.
By the way, I think Josh is way to Robben,Ronaldo playing style. But honestly,he's awesome, feel so charm to have a younger like him.

QUOTE(taor3n @ Sep 23 2010, 11:26 PM)
woahh...just look at his touches....ball stopping,holding and short passes...is fantastic...and hes only 17...wad a iniesta in the making..loLL

thing he needs to improve is his strength...and quick passes to counter....coz i saw...few time runners..run to space..at front..but he hesitated....to do quick pass...
hes only 17..
he a natural midfielder man... always roam in the middle...always giving options to teammates....
hes already incredible...especially ball stopping...superb...

Please dun compare with iniesta.. i dun like iniesta, not a fairplay player.

hmm a bit sad as the youngsters have lost their number one avenue to get more time on the pitch. will make sure to catch a replay of the full game. it was quite a comback, but defensive mistakes cost us. turnbull is turning out to be one heck of an odd purchase eh sweat.gif

watched the first half and from what I can see, carlo’s philosophy is already beginning to be understood even among the youth. It really is about playing a specific system, where players can gauge and seamlessly adapt to it with time (happens to be wenger and fergie’s policy too). their movement and ball retention isn’t really too far away from what we see in the first team, and that’s a huge compliment for our youngsters involved.
I’m really loving the positive optimism shown by almost all of u guys, but I still say we have to manage our expectations with regards to josh.

Watched the vid, and was very impressed by his ball control, confidence and quickness of thought. Being closed down by defenders just doesn’t faze this boy, and it’s an instinct developed by players with natural skill. Just keep in mind, josh needs time and don’t expect him to dribble past everyone in the next game he’s involved in.

p. s: I’m also annoyed that nobody bothered to compare his finesse to our very own zola, and kept mentioning iniesta intead!shame on u guys vmad.gif tongue.gif

yeap. i too actually do not like the fact that he is compared to those spanish players. i would choose frank lampard anyday instead of xavi and iniesta.

cech
ferreira - ivanovic - terry - cole
essien - mikel - yuri
anelka - drogba - malouda

i wouldnt risk putting in sturridge against his old club and based on his previous form, i dont think its wise to risk him against city. with the amount of talent that city has, we need our full firepower of anelka, drogba and malouda to skin their defense alive. i hope our lads warm up properly, we cannot afford any silly injuries, we are going to be short of backups.
