Just sharing something, not referring to anyone  :
Never judge a person by it's age, never look down someone because of age. A may look down on B because B is younger, at the same time, C may look down on A because C is older. It's a never ending loop. Old fashioned people do this, it is not nice. To learn, we should be open and accept, sometimes there're thing we can learn from the younger, not necessarily only learn from older people; Or those look down on younger people because of age, they will just loose out and in the end never learn anything. 
We're smartphone users, so we should be different from those 'old fashioned' people

lol, I'm serious bro. I've just spent some time reading a lotta threads and wikis at talk.maemo.org then just slowly with all the tutos learning my way around the filesystem. Got my n900 in April. before that didn't know how to use linux, etc. Thats what i really love about this phone. Initially when i was considering buying it, just looking around at the threads, i had serious doubts about whether i would enjoy, and be able to handle it. Its surprisingly not that hard to learn what you need just as long as you have an interest and don't mind spending some time tweaking and testing different things. Symbian ignited that interest for me with my n82, and now my n900 keeps that interest burning, I can truly say, having no linux experience is not a obstacle for n900 owners, plus i love the fact that its customizable to the point that my n900 is unique,

plus our Lyn community is quite good. we're very up to date on the latest tweaks, apps, etc,

version doesn't matter. can be updated on your own. the latest version v10 was just released about a month+ ago, so i doubt any dealers would have sets with latest version preinstalled.

just make sure you are getting original accessories and check on the T&C of the warranty to be sure you are getting a good deal.

i think you are getting AP set, so its better to get it from a reputable AP company.

eh wanna ask u guys, got any of u did apply invisibleshield on n900 or not? is it safe to use it? bcos i did heard it will effect the phone after sometimes....if the things working fine...im gonna buy it ...

@Cloud3818: Actually the only REAL high-cap battery is the Mugen Power one, and it's only available online. The local high cap ones are usually crap.

You're better off with a USB battery pack if you wanna extend battery life without battery swapping, IMHO.

If you want real increase in mAh, the size will be bigger. Usually those that reported higher mAh but at similar size, is probably fake or is said to have safety. Not sure, but for now, for bigger capacity, size will matter, Nokia would've provided a high capacity version already.

Nokia Extra Power DC-11 is expensive, it's only 1500mah and only capable to fully charge a 900mah battery (as the spec written). I bought one for around RM199. You can get cheaper from Low Yat seller or ebay (more cheaper). It's around the same size as N97, and can fit perfectly on an iPhone case.

IMO, not really worth spending on the Nokia DC-11, better get other brand which is cheaper and have higher capacity. Eiraku is using XPAL portable charger/battery pack by Energizer. The XP2000 would be a good choice as the size is compact and offer more juice than DC-11, not to mentioned cheaper; better yet, you can use it to charge other phone or devices as well, not just Nokia.

Using XP2000 right now, get the short Nokia USB charging cable (DC-10?), some velcro tape and you're set.

Got it for RM160-ish from Hypermart PJ.

But you also have XP4000-4400-8000, but the size is considerably larger.

The BEST USB battery pack I know of is Just Mobile Gum Pro, 4000mah in a package only slightly thicker than XP2000 (but MUCH heavier) and for about the same price + high power (1000ma/5v) charging = charges your N900 as fast as your wall charger can.

Only problem it's ONLY available online or from ebay.

Thus the 1000ma output Just Mobile Gum Being the better choice, as everything else I know of ONLY outputs 500ma = would only charge effectively if the phone is idle.

But even then, it's still nowhere as fast as the wall charger, although by using USB packs the effective running time of the phone gets extended by a few long hours (phone draws power more from USB charger than internal battery.

@cloud3818: Just get what you need. The XP2000 is good for a full charge up (not completely though) and the XP4000 is good for 2x that.

Anyhow, enough of that. I just got my Otterbox, and from what I'm seeing so far, it's worth every sen.

Main issues:

1) Had to korek my own lanyard/strap hole (actually made a mistake and made 2)
2) The top part of the keyboard (the small strip of empty space) now has been blocked by the thick top cover (the top row is now slightly harder to type with).
3) The unlock slider and stylus is harder to access.
4) Provided screen protector looks cheap.

... but everything else is top notch, especially in terms of design. It's actually not just stupidly mahal branded rubberised case + silicone liner. The seams are actually designed to make sure that the part that clips onto the top part never interferes with the one that clips onto the bottom (the main cause of hard case clip breakage).

Gonna use for a while before I go and give it a full on review, but I'm liking it so far.

No noticeable added friction when sliding at all (although my N900 is deliberately hard to slide to begin with as I've modded the slider mech). And it's RM95-ish including postage from ebay, not cheap, but with the no-go of the resin case, what other option do I have (that doesn't regularly break like the Epik Rubber case)?

Will posts pics later when I do the full on review in a few days.

One thing I can tell you though, because it's made to securely fit on your N900, it takes a lot of effort to pull off once you have it on - to the point that an external battery of some sort becomes a must (pulling it off to put your spare BL5J takes so much freakin work that it's annoying).
