Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama revealed some latest info on the game in this week's Dengeki magazine.

* The story of FFXIII-2 will take place in Gran Pulse after the ending of FFXIII
* The main plot will begin like the FFXIII Episode 1: Corridor of Memory booklet that came with the Japanese Xbox 360 version of FFXIII International but further expanded
* Besides the protagonist Lightning, other FFXIII characters will make unexpected appearance somewhere in the game, and some will have major changes
* Some of the events from the first game will be carried over and reflected in this game
* The story will be more dark and mysterious
* The story will focus on the Goddess Etro, who was one of the three Goddesses created by God Buniberzei, in order to world to search and destroy his mother Muin
* This game will not have the modern pop style setting like in Final Fantasy X-2
* The battle system will be an evolved version of the ATB system from FFXIII
* The development team will incorporate opinions from both the domestic and foreign players, from characters, story to user interface
* The game may have difficulty setting at the beginning



Hopefully Hope and Snow will never show up in the game again....

Difficulty setting? Hope it doesn't transfer save data from FF XIII, I got the R2 Version and I will really hate it if I bought the R1 Version and miss out a lot of extras.

i doubt it will transfer data. and ff13 didn't have a 'choice' to make anyway, it was linear. i love the game, unlike most people

they just meant it will bring over decisions made from the story to the new game i guess.

I quite like FF13. I donno why major ppl have so many bad comment abt the game but seriously.. Square Enix does a great job on FF13 with its unique gameplay style. Cloud-like character - lightning. Unique n understandable story.

Only one thing is lacking, u cant visit old places. Some of them are really beautiful. I'll love to revisit for mission or something at least.

With FF13-2 is on the way, I'm really excited n hope they wont use the paradigm anymore. Just need something new...

i never dislike FFXIII... Never did.. never will.. everything, including character and and plot is nice.. scene is super beautiful.. and people who dislike the game to the extend they hate it always speak of the same comment other said over and over again... too linear la everything.. sounds like they never play before or got brainwashed...

but gameplay.... i'd say i have my reservation on it... its not my fav... prefer a KH style gameplay eventhough this combat is not bad oso... and major problem is some of the enemy take too long to gao tim.. tats the only prob...

Famitsu weekly has revealed more information on FF XIII-2 ,nothing as much as FF13 VS but some tidbits ;


- Have Lightning and the others are really living in peace and happiness after the ending of FF13 ? This will be answered
in FF13-2

- We are wondering, Have we been walking the right path with FF13's combat system ?

- The entire game does not takes place in the original gran pulse, but gran pulse will show up as 1 of the location.

^ Probably within the year of 2011.

You mean the probably release date on Winter of 2011? I hope that's true. Feel like exploring more of FF XIII world.
