can i just say that someone here noted in earlier post that discovery hd is called Discovery World HD..
N if u expect popular programmes to be on it, for example, Mythbusters, u will be disappointed..
The programmes on the HD channel is not the same as the normal channel..
But it be better to have Discovery World HD anyways than the recently added FXHD..pfft..

Just need to ask something..
If Im not mistaken, it is said that u can only watch the programmes u recorded if u continue to subscribe to the package..
For example u record something from Discovery channel, u cannot watch it once u unsubscribe to the Learning package in the future..
So my question is, if I record the World Cup highlights, what will happen to my recording once the World Cup channels are gone?
Will i lose the recordings too?

Then whats so good about watching BEN10 or Tom N Jerry so clearly..?

Before this he was the one telling peole astro trying to fix la n be patient with astro la..

However bro..i just want to give u a word of caution or advice yeah..u say u want to set up a dialogue with astro on current issues right? well..I just want to say u should try get the highest ranking officer available to come in and join the dialogue..its no use if we talk about so many issues but the guy on the other end is just the regular Astro Customer service staff whose daily work is to pick up the phone and answer customers question or answers Facebook post on Astro's wall..It would just be like a normal conversation we have on the phone or through their page on FB..lets try and get someone who has authority and power if possible..that is y we should take part in the dialogue..to try and force astro to make their services better..if they only put the regular guy/lady from CS to answer our question then its better to.............................

Well..World Cup will be over in 10+days..
So what will astro's new promo be to attract people to get Byond?
New channels already launched earlier this month..
Only got space for two more..
Or could astro suprise us and give more than two?

i dont think it was KBS la..its TVB if im not mistaken..

World Cup channels dont count as in the 10 HD channels..
If u count World Cup then u must also count AF8 HD too..

coz i read somewhere that ESPN STAR will ahve HD studio and equipment ready by the end of July..
Wouldn't rule out our ESPN HD migrate and merge to the official ESPN STAR HD..

Bro..like this la..its not to say its cheating..but more of a mistake on ESPN HD part's (or Astro or whoever is responsible) for leaving the 'LIVE' logo on the screen..The mistake is that..yes the match is over n not LIVE..but ESPN HD is getting the feed from Star Sports and the 'programme' is LIVE if not the match..Star Sports are the broadcasters..they are the ones that are showing the tournament programming LIVE..ESPN HD just picks up the LIVE programming feed..yup..the match was not LIVE..the programme was though..I also terkena..
But better next time juz check Star Sports if they have the LIVE logo or not then switch back to ESPN HD..ESPN HD LIVE logo will be on the screen from 7pm-2am..so hard to judge..Cheating? er..more to to bad errors la..

dont count on it..maybe 1 year or 2 years more can la..now astro cannot give discount..
they will suck all the money available now..
only when their sales go down and people have no more money to spend, then only they will give discount..
new items wont get cheap..hehe

bro..ur last sentence..does it mean whoever gets Byond PVR cannot use the decoder with normal dish?
for example..i am using normal byond..i can use when balik kampung and connect to normal astro dish..
so PVR cannot is it?

well..i know u subscribe to the sports package since u have got ESPN HD (even though touch n go) but u have the wCup channels ok..
Are u subscribed to the Learning package (Nat Geo/history) and also movie package( HBO HD)?
U have to subscribe to the packages if u want the HD channels..
AXN HD and FX HD are channles available to whoever has Byond

Wow..that Holland goal would have been so alive in 3D!!!

Well..even in the UK, Sky Sports are only showing selected matches in 3D for the upcoming EPL season..
N that also is in some pubs..
They will gradually be rolling out the 3D features to their customers home this year..
So dont know when Malaysians will be ready for it..

I think the timing of 3D for the World Cup final is for Astro to show their capabilities and perhaps give a sign of things to come. What better way to showcase their 3D capabilities that Astro posses than by showing the World Cup final match in 3D..

Yes some might argue that maybe only 5 people in Malaysia has 3DTV. But its a good marketing and business strategy by Astro to tell people that they can deliver 3D broadcast and they are ready for it. Yes maybe the 3DTV in the markets now are way too expensive. But we said that about HDTV not so long ago. The prices drop when there is a chance to market it so 3DTV is the future.

Now Astro show they can broadcast World Cup final in 3D. I will put my money on Astro showing all 64 matches of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil not only in HD but also 3D. In the next 4 years more 3D programming will develop. EPL in England is now getting more 3D matches in. 3D EPL matches might be available to us even before the next World Cup. Movies are now well into the 3D market. This 3D thing is the next step in TV technology.

Astro cant wait for all of us to get 3DTV n only then they want to show their capabilities. If they wait, then by the time they want to launch 3DTV, some here will start complaining and say Singapore la Indon la, Japan la all already have 3DTV. So to them who only pandai cakap only, the world wont wait for u..wake up!

3DTV will be in full flow and prices will gradually be more affordable..N 3D Talk among Malaysian especially the 'experts' here in LYN will just be like talk about HDTV now..

So the point and timing of the 3D broadcast is - there is always a beginning for something new. Why not now?

i believe u can eventhough the channel will be gone..
But i think u will lose the recording if u unsubscribe to the sports package..

on another note to any EPL fans out there..
I just watched the ESPN promo for the month of August
They are not promoting EPL as they would usually..
Is it just me or is Astro gonna produce the EPL programming as well as showing the matches on the in house channels?
Gosh i sure hope not..
Astro's presenters and 'experts' are no where near as good as ESPN's..

disvovery hd still seems far away..the 2 more HD channels that might be added might be for other packages

i once had the same problem..the cause was the astro dish moved a little bit during a rainstorm..
astro tech guys came to align the dish again n problem solved..
although it does seem weird urs actually say its a subscription problem

Before this talk so much on how good Byond PVR was..
Now got problem complain only..
Even before this when people complain about Astro services he would help Astro out and talk like spokesman for Astro..
