I am watching the CSI Trilogy rite now on AXN HD..
n during commercial break, they aired a new EPL Promo..
Not the usual Torres promo..
It a new one that they say more goals, more action and more games..
Weird that they say more games and not say all games or all matches LIVE like the Astro CEO Datuk Rohana Rozhan said in the article below..
But more importantly, at the end of the promo, they said EPL 2010/2011 on Astro Supersport, Supersport 2 and Supersport HD..
No mention of ESPN STAR Sports or Superport 3 like what was said..
Apart from one person who said EPL was listed on ESPN STAR in the AstroView magazine, its hard to find any other source..

*Astro are really hying and promoting the new football season be it EPL, La Liga, Serie A..post-world cup marketting strategy..new HD channel might be for the end of year holidays..

Well..i always thought another sports HD was not on the card..didnt thonk astro would do it since they said only another 2 channel left for this year..definitely Supersport FTW..

what im thinking is that Supersport 3 might become like Sky Sports 3 in the UK..on match days when there are many matches played, Sky Sports 3 would be a screen showing multiple names and we pick which game we want to watch via the red button..when there are no matches, the channel will become a regular channel..

I think it would be a real shame and a real loss for Astro if they could not show all matches LIVE..coz they fought real hard in the bidding to the rights of all 380 matches..and they also had to go over budget to win the rights ahead of TM..they have the rights to show all the matches so why not use it..if they dont, sure they rugi big time..won the bid expensively yet not utilising their rights..

Fingers crossed..thats what Astro are thinking..

u sure u saw BPL on ESPN ad meh? Almost everyday i saw the ESPN promo..no mention of English football..they even put Sportscenter as a main attraction for the month of August..maybe u mistaken with the Star Sports promo..the Star Sports promo includes the Community Shield match between Chelsea n Man U..but no BPL..Astro FB confirmed that match is on Star Sports..

ABout ur idea of the main match on ESPN/Star Sports, I have already seen Nadi Arena (Astro's SPORTSCENTER) twice promoting Liverpool vs Arsenal 15 July 2010 10pm..unless Astro are doing their own match analysis and ESPN does theirs, i think big matches will end up on Supersport..

and Astro's new EPL promo (not the Torres one) has no mention of ESPN STAR..only the Supersport channel..

the Star Sports promo about Community Shield stated that the match is not available in Thailand..so it should be available in Malaysia

i knew that could have been the problem..
dunno why la but lately this has been the number one problem among astro customers..the dish alignment problem
most people are complaining they get interrupted service at certain times of the day, everyday..
n mostly they have confirmed that the problem is dish alignment..
i dont recall any earthquake or tornado winds going around Malaysia though

owh..now i understand..yelah..astro suke2 change some of the things that is already good..dont fix what is not broken right? what to do..we must pay and suffer la as we dont have any choice..huhu

will that mean we get HD content from ESPN now? coz i remembered back in May that a company was installing the final few HD broadcasting sets at the ESPNSTAR HQ and studios in Singapore..the new HD content was due to launch in August..hope that means we can watch Sportscenter or EPL content shows in HD too..that is if we will get EPL in ESPN..

Speaking of which..as I have said earlier, there was no mention of EPL in the ESPN and Star Sports promo for August except for Comminty Shield match..but yesterday when I was eating at Kayu Nasi Kandar, they were showing ESPN and during the ad, the ESPN promo for August was shown..the promo not only had EPL but also Champions League qualifiers..have they changed the promo or is the feed at the mamak different to that with the normal astro subscriber? coz i noticed they were using the astro that had the little white square at the bottom right of the screen..i remembered that someone said that box is only for commercial subscribers like McD for example like during World Cup

waaaaahhh..thanks man..so at least we now have another clue as how the BPL will be covered..Astro have a promo for BPL on Supersport, Supersport2, and Supersport HD..ESPN now say they will also show some and I think the same also applies to Star Sports..pheww..

Now lets see if the all 380 EPL matches LIVE plan by Astro goes according to plan..would be a huge 'loss' to Astro if they dont do it since they forked out more than they expected to win the rights to all matches last year..
and lets see if Supersport 3 does come to us this month..

Added on August 1, 2010, 11:50 pmyeah i think i noticed that some programmes are different in Sinagpore and Malaysia..and I think if the programme is in Malaysia only, then the ESPN logo goes back to the old logo..thats what I saw la..

Shame Sportscenter not in HD..hope F1 pre-show coverage will be in HD..wanna see Paula Malai Ali in HD again after seeing her at Wimbledon..

Astro Supersport 3 is coming soon..

Watched Nadi Arena (Astro's Sportscenter) on Astro Arena tonight..
They advertised the below:

Liverpool vs Arsenal
15 August 2010
11.00 PM
LIVE on ASTRO SUPERSPORT 3

I have also checked the programme scheduled for ESPN n STAR SPORTS on ESPNSTAR.COM
They do not have that match on their listings..but they do have the early match and the usual 10pm match listed LIVEon Saturdays..they are not showing the late match which probably means Astro will have it..

My guess is, Astro are gonna do the big matches or the big teams on their in house channel..ESPN STAR SPORTS will take up minimum 2 games per weekend..
