anyone using maybank sg noticed that transaction history dont have timestamp at all? few weeks ago travelled to sg and now only check back receipt and transaction in maybank sg "expenses" tab. can reprint receipt but totally no time stated when the transaction is made. only date.
i-savvy dont have estatement cuz it said in FAQ. if want statement need go to sg branch and request paper statment. will be about $30 per statement. www#.maybank2u.com.sg/en/bank-charges/sg-loans-others/savings-account.page#:~:text=Ad-hoc%20Request,30%20per%20month |

Just a note, ....
Banks may hold, reject some transfers if more than half of an account's balance is moved out https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/b...-oct-15-5383281 SINGAPORE: From Oct 15, banks may hold or reject transfers from accounts with balances of at least S$50,000 (US$38,800) if withdrawals over 24 hours amount to more than half of the total funds. The safeguard will be triggered when a transaction, together with other withdrawals in that time period, exceeds 50 per cent of the available amount. The new measure from Oct 15 will apply to accounts with balances of at least S$50,000 and is part of enhanced fraud surveillance. "Customers may experience delays in digital payments and transfers, including for legitimate transactions, as banks step up their checks to protect customers," said ABS. "Customers are advised to plan time-sensitive banking transactions (for example, for share purchases) in advance to avoid incurring fees and charges due to any delay." Major retail banks – DBS, OCBC, UOB, Citibank, HSBC, Maybank and Standard Chartered – will implement the safeguard to all current and savings accounts, including joint accounts. The safeguard will apply to all digital banking transactions done through bank apps and internet banking. Non-digital banking transactions, including cash withdrawals at bank branches and ATMs, will not be affected. This post has been edited by MUM: Oct 4 2025, 07:49 AM |

Ramjade, may I know how did you open DBS account? I tried to apply online through their phone app just now and I could not proceed because I do not have the FIN that they required as I am not employed in Singapore.

Sg banks cannot open online except for Maybank or Cimb. |

Fantasia just do what u can but no guarantees. anything can change anytime. e.g., OCBC SG allows foreigners like mainland chinese, malaysians to open bank acct with S$1k deposit but since the rule tightening, you need to provide a copy of the letter offer of employment (no need FIN) plus one deposit of S$3k. previously you just need to accumulate until S$1k so doing DuitNow overseas transfer of S$500 for 2 days is sufficient. Ramjade's experience may not be valid

I personally went to DBS HQ last year to ask about it.Went up to Level 3 or is it Level 4 in MBFC to enquire. I was told since the Covid days, the Vickers team will only entertain you by appointment. They have also moved up to Level 14(?). So I didn't get the chance to beg 🤣 or maybe I didnt try hard enough. You perhaps can find out about this appointment thing and prepare ahead. Let us know if you manage to make it, all the best. |
