Easy if you are HNWI. Not so for majority of us here. Can it be done by non HNWI/non accredited people?

ok, update here.
I finally opened my saving account(hooray), in another branch
Due to too many peoples come and open saving account and sell to the market for fraud case, so they are very strict about this now
I have ask them about the basic account thing, they said BNM is only promised all bank "will" offer basic saving account, not "shall".
So they still hold the final decision that whether to let you open or not

Just show all the valid documents(EPF, Income Tax, etc) to support you are not selling your account then you are safe.

Oh i tried, wrote down their name at the first time i went, complaint to the CIMB customer service. They don't even care. You can see how is their service.
and looks like BNM and instruct them to check every new account as there is peoples selling their saving account.

Did you get your free basic savings account? Or CIMB open some other account for you?

I already have my free basic account. No I didn't know can open account online. I think it's new stuff.

i haven't tried it also as i also have a basic account already. but i guess that will bypass most of the 'questionings' and reluctance to open bsa or bca

I was requesting basic saving account in the website, but i saw they open AirAsia saver for me.

Never mind. For now keep it. 6 months later open the free basic account online and close the airasia account.

Most important is able to open sg bank account. Pay RM15 is a small price to pay.

then u can open bsa via cimbclicks. then cancel ur airasia saver before the next anniversary.

Airasia saver can still open the CIMB sg account right?
If can i just leave the airasia account, my main purpose is only opening the SG account nia

Anyway, i'm doing the account linking part, so next week will know it works or not

Update:
Managed to open my Ecosave (or whatever) savings account online, went to branch for verification and deposit.
Opened SG FastSaver account, verified with OTP and transferred $1000 via Wise.
Submitted account linking in CIMBclicks MY now waiting for approval.
Here's hoping everything goes well.

If you put enough in, they will even come find you 😂😂😂

Make sure to open free basic savings account online and close your current account 7 months later so you don't get charged by CIMB.

Ya I opened free basic savings account online, don't have other facilities with CIMB.
I only got charged RM15 for the debit card annual fee.

Hmmm, you didn't know got 2 version? The other one don't need debit card fee...

Oh I didn't know that, only saw like Petronas one and this Ecosaver one...
Nvm la just do something for the environment. My purpose is just for linking the SG account 😂

Can I depo SG1k for the CIMB SG account verification via bigpay?

at least sgd1 needs to be transferred from cimb my or another sg sccount of ur own name for verification. the rest of the sgd999 can be done via other avenue including bigpay
