Hi guys, newbie here..
If successfully open CIMB SG account, any limit on funds that you can transfer to that account?
Will BNM check if say, every month transfer few thousand RM out to CIMB SG?
Thanks and sorry if it's a noob question.

If you have no debts you transfer unlimited amount.
If you have debts max is RM1M/year.
As per bank negara.

Of course if you transfer more than what your salary is get ready for sg banks to questions you. And give them proof where money is coming from.

Yo bro thanks for the reply.
And if I shift money back into CIMB Malaysia, will it trigger anything?
So I just prove that I sent the money to CIMB SG in the first place, and now I am transferring it back?
Thanks.

Edit: just to be clear, with the current economic climate in Malaysia, I feel it is safer to park a part of my savings in SG for stability as well as planning for my children's education. But if I need the money due to emergency, I will need to transfer it back to Malaysia.

Hi. I just created an account for CIMB SG and initiated account linking from my CIMB MY account. Normally how long will it take for them to verify and approve this? Also normally what is the phone no. that they will use to call me for verification purpose?
*
I'm planning to do this once I open my CIMB MY account. Opened online but need to visit branch to activate and collect debit card.
I noticed CIMB SG opening FastSaver account, part of the requirement is SG PR, work permit or something. So it doesn't matter?

Update:
Managed to open my Ecosave (or whatever) savings account online, went to branch for verification and deposit.
Opened SG FastSaver account, verified with OTP and transferred $1000 via Wise.
Submitted account linking in CIMBclicks MY now waiting for approval.
Here's hoping everything goes well.

Easy if you are HNWI. Not so for majority of us here. Can it be done by non HNWI/non accredited people?
*
This is true.
If you put enough in, they will even come find you 😂😂😂

Make sure to open free basic savings account online and close your current account 7 months later so you don't get charged by CIMB.
*
Ya I opened free basic savings account online, don't have other facilities with CIMB.
I only got charged RM15 for the debit card annual fee.

so did u received the activation code? I have transferred to my sg account 3 days ago but till not never received any activation code.
The sg did called me for verification. but no news till now. My Malaysia CIMB account shows my sg account is active though
*
Which step are you at now?
Did you transfer the $1k or the $1 for eKYC? If you mean activation code for CIMBClicks SG first time login then it is after you transfer the $1 and they call you to verify your details and purpose of opening account.

But to answer your question, yes I received the activation code.

hmm.. my steps is kind of messed up though, i got called first, then they ask me to perform the eKYC, which i have done later on, and then no reply after that.
So how long did u wait for the activation code after u done the eKYC
*
About 1 or 2 days.
You can call them up if you want. But overseas call charges apply la...

Best you view the comprehensive tutorial.
There's a few steps to open a CIMB SG account, then you can get activation code for CIMBclicks SG.
