Apply for posb eEveryday Savings account via online.
Transfer in SGD500.
Once confirmed opened that posb account, then only proceed to close DBS multiplier. Do not close multiplier until you have confirmed that the posb account appear in your ibanking page.

To close DBS multiplier
Find customer service via chat with bot.
Ask to talk to live agent (type live chat/live agent)
Ask for closure form link.
Download. Fill it up. Tick the option in the form to transfer money to posb account upon closing and provide them your posb account). Link your debit card to posb account.
Sign and mailed it down to Singapore. Whole process takes about 2 weeks.

Then why do you need a Cimb bank account? You already have a Singaoire bank account where your employer deposit your salary right?

People open Cimb bank account is because is hard for Malaysian to open account in Singaoire without anything.
Is also for people who don't want to travel down to Singaoire just to open an account.

Ask yourself, do you need a Cimb bank MY bank account? Don't tell me you don't have a Malaysian bank account?

If is for transferring money back to Malaysia, there are plenty of cheaper ways to do it rather than using Cimb SG.

Bro,... I htink with big chunks of money will be more stringent, especially if you are a Msian. They would want to chk your background, source of funds, Tax Identification Numbers, etc,...

of coz suject to your background check also. usually, it takes like 30 min to open an acc. din really see what kind of background check they did.

Mine was 2-3 hours plus. I was like what the hell. It's Singapore man. Even slower than our BSN. This happens in DBS.

Hi,
I'm intrigued. May I know what are the cheaper ways to transfer from SG to MY?

So far to my knowledge, CIMB SG has the best rate because of this: https://www.cimbbank.com.sg/en/personal/new...sfer-promo.html

Thanks.

If you are based in Cimb (work/study/have SG address/telephone no), there are cheaper options than Cimb.
Instarem, singx, transferwise, M1 remit (in no particular order, kindly visit each site for the best rate).

So how's the situation now?
Besides CIMB, any other banks which allow Msians to open SG account without having to work nor reside in SG?

Maybank. Don't even need to go down to SG, if I'm not wrong.
