sometimes newer version of bios may not show any significant changes/improvement that we may noticed, but it does upgrading something.

the changes is for example, temp that your fan start to spin in full speed, internal power management and etc.

but i agree with hackcremo too, if you think your current bios is well enough, stick to it. there is no need for you to headache yourself to adapt to the new bios.

which version of bios that both of you using?

i assume from Dell website right? if other users also updating the same bios but not face any trouble, the problem might came from your software incompatibility. check it as well too ya.

M17x cooling system is superb indeed. in fact you does not need cooler for M17x. what you have to do is periodically clean the heatsink of GPU mostly and CPU.

max temp i obtained after running benchmark was not reaching 65 Degree Celsius for both of my GPUs.

i doubt there will be another R3 for M17x. and i receive 0 rumors about that, too.

to be exactly recall, M17x just reach 1 year age when it landed to Malaysia. and premium laptop like this will not release the next model with this short period of time. thats what in my mind..

just curious, you'd brought your monster directly from Dell, isn't it?

because those DVD just provide basic version of the driver. you can download the newer version based on the basic driver that you'd installed.

its a great guidance for someone that not really familiar with something like this
