I can give you the phone number of a very helpful Dell engineer, he is the one who fixed my AW M17x.
Just hope to be some help here because Technical Department's operator will never go to such extend to help.

Nvidia GTX 280M SLi is benchmarked ( No.4) compared to Mobility Radeon HD 4870 X2 ( No.5) on http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphi...List.844.0.html

I guess that makes all the differences ?
*
hmm maybe. but kinda doubt since once ATi HD4870 CF being release, there is mass rumors about it bit stronger than GTX280M SLi. but seems wrong, i guess..

as far as i concern, i7-990X is CPU Desktop variant, not Mobility variant with basic clock @ 3.45GHZ or somethin'

QUOTE(-Nos- @ Aug 13 2010, 10:17 PM)
because he said that dell m'sia is selling cheaper than US. rclxub.gif
*
the quoted price from both MY and US is changing from time to time.

and from what i read before, Dell after sales support doesn't as good as what we have in Malaysia smile.gif

IMO, it's better to get something that u don't need it now but when u want to use it at least u have it rather than when u need it but don't have it~

or what we call overkill.

Guys, need help ):

1. HD display: 17.0" WUXGA 1920 x 1200 - Beyond HD (1200p) - RGB LED * is now  17.0" UltraSharpâ„¢ WUXGA (1920x1200) RGBLED Display with TrueLifeâ„¢

Dell just told me that they are changing my LED screen to something called Ultrasharp, So whats the difference between HD and Ultrasharp?

i don't really quite familiar with those term. for me it just sorta marketing term, not much different from other. as long as the resolution (1920 x 1200) and type is the same (RGB LED), its good to go for me smile.gif

Argh ... i just found out that the right side speaker's light a bit faulty >.<
Normally i will put red or green color but today i dunno why, i changed to orange and then i found that the right side color is not original orange but is yellow orange + green... when i change to yellow, it will become blue yellow...
If i call dell support, will they come and replace juz for this ? thanks.

Owing M11x R2 btw
*
it seems something went wrong with your Alienware FX LED. have any pictures to share? if you contact Dell Support, they will ask you to email to them the picture of the faulty area too.

and yes, just call or email to Dell, they will fix that for you FOC smile.gif

Man the Bluetooth Icon just disappeared on my M15x  vmad.gif
The BTTray is running but I don't seem to detect my laptop's bluetooth!!!  mad.gif

FIXED - Constantly having probs with the bluetooth  rclxub.gif
*
do M15x have Bluetooth module built in? (we call it module or what? i don't really know actually doh.gif )

because when i try to transfer few stuff using bluetooth just now, it said that i have to connect to external bluetooth or something. then i checked my Bluetooth hardware and guess what, it shown none, as in attached picture. to other Alienware owner, is that normal? i don't familiar with this stuff since i don't use Bluetooth connection at all... sweat.gif

hey guys
i just bought a m17x few months ago in LYF
he got it from USA, thus the warranty is also from USA
is it possible for me to still claim the warranty from Dell Malaysia ?
*
hi,

mind explaning what LYF is stand for?

and how if LYF is located in Malaysia, how does you know he really got it from USA? i think the only way to know is to check the engravement plate. USA version able to grave customize words on it.

if that is really USA version, you have to own 3 Years Warranty to be supported worldwide.

I need a help from seniors here. Does any of AW-ans here hv a good laptop safety to recommend? I was going to take M15x soon but I'm staying at college's hostel so I'm abit unsure of getting one unless there is a good security equipment.
*
i lock the door whenever i go anywhere else. i staying in the house tho, not hostel. and i don't think bringing Alienware to hostel is a good thing due to the attention created sweat.gif

anyway, you can PM forumer named Nohal, i think he is staying in hostel too.
