Oil kept too long, the dirt is being circulated only. Anyway, even the oil can last, the additives will break down.

Some advice please.

4B11 first 1000km changing to full synthetic the SC gave me choice between Petronas 3000 and a Shell fully Syn.

Which is better? Or should I even go fully at all?

Thanks peeps  rclxms.gif

New saga 1.3 Auto, what engine oil recommend? Before that I use Shell engine oil. Now thinking want to change penzoil oil. Which type I have to change and the price range is?

Check your car manual for recommended viscosity.

Other then that the 10w-40 SS should be good....

been using Valvoline 15w50 for over a year now on my old Saga. B4 this im using Castrol 20w50 mineral

about the Valvoline, great oil. Can use until 8k km...even approaching 8k the engine still feel smooth. But if got budget it's recommended to change every 5-6k km

this one, around rm120 per 4l bottle

Not cheap for SS 4L only......

Most SS oil cost around RM100.
Shell SS on offer at Tesco is 5L packing and when promo is only around RM89

Nope, these 10w-38 are FS oil. Don't look at the price of RM100. It was an offer price.
Normal price is way higher...... sad.gif

It was some sort of anniversary thing that they celebrated. I was shock also to see that, but I did not buy because it was meant more for NA cars, and my other NA car is using SS only.... blush.gif

If not consuming engine oil can still switch back to SS 10w-40.
My old Sonata was on FS 5w-40, then SS 5w-30, then back to FS 5w-40, now on SS 10w-40

my car-civic fd1 makan minyak after switch from semi-syn 5w.30 to fully syn 5w-40 at millage 110k  km. after 8k running the oil seems like "evaporate" almost 35%.... my friend told me that my car no longer suite for fully syn.. is that true? i had purchase another fully syn to change la.... sad.gif sum said my top gasket start to have minor leak alr... pls advice...
*
Quite surprise on this.
I have heard before but those were like using SS 10w-40 changing to FS 0w-30. The usages of lighter viscosity oil in older worn engine then will consume some engine oil, but for you even though going from SS to FS, you went to thicker viscosity therefore should be okay......

Don't know what you mean by good, but have used many bottles already in my turbo for years. now switch to Blue.Sky from UMW because even cheaper bought from their warehouse sale.
Cheaper FS oil are normally hydro crack mineral oil in Group 3

I always check in the morning. Make sure the car is parked on flat ground also.

At the mechanic, he normally have to start the engine to fill the oil filter and check for leaks. After that he should off the engine, and let it stand for a while before checking and normally I will tell them to leave it at 3/4 mark, then I will check again next morning.

I have a question;

I am currently using Shell branded engine oil, which has the so-called cleaning properties inside the oil to clean up the engine nicely... (Which I really like.)

But are there also other brand(s) of engine oils out there that also offers this cleaning/cleansing properties inside their oils (just like Shell)?

Please recommend if you know.

Thanks a lot in advance.
*
All major brands have the additives added to clean also...... smile.gif

If the engine is old and you use to light a viscosity the oil can slip through at higher revs into the combustion chamber and gets burnt off a little at a time. This way there will not be any smoke as it becomes a clean burn off, so engine oil level will reduce over long mileage.....
