should be no problem

however if your engine isn't really dirty/bad performance, you can opt to use engine flush every 2 services.
injection cleaner also same if you're on 10k km service, as it takes maybe 15-25k km for your TB/injection system to get dirty

can save more money that way smile.gif

the money saved from the lengthened OCI can be re-invested by adding Ceratec every 5 services. rclxms.gif

and if you want to go for ceratec, please dont use engine flush until your next ceratec usage (so you dont flush away ceratec LOL!)

hence *technically* more savings, especially if you're so zealous on flushing your engine everytime lol

most of it will still stay on your engine parts, more so if your OCI is 10k km, where you don't have that many oil drains compared to cars with 5k km OCI

LM claims that it lasts up till 50k km, personally i think its between 20-40k km.

so you can further evaluate yourself depending on your engine performance.

truth is there isn't any real solid way to determine how clean an engine is unless you dyno your car all the time and if there are performance drop, it's either carbon/sludge build up, something's worn out/gone wrong or you're facing compression loss etc

if you turn it the other way around, "if the engine is clean, why should i flush it?"

anyways a "not so solid" method to check is that you can get bright led lights/lamps to shine within your engine block via the oil pouring point after removing the cap, can get a rough idea/glance at what is the engine condition. if there are sludge forming it would be very obvious as they'd stick around your engine parts.

brand: Mobil 1
model: Super 2000 X2 10-40w Semi-Synthetic.
price: RM98 / 4L

Long-distance, stop and go, pedal to metal.
Still smooth after 15,000km. Been using for the past few years. No complaint. Using it on Toyota Ipsum SXM10G.

actually no need to flush if u do regular oil change. just use LM engine oil it can clean the engine already. dont do flushing if your manual never mentioned anything about it. fuel injector cleaner also not necessary got almost all petrol brand now already got the additive to clean the fuel injector. just fill in V-Power full tank once in a while to clean the fuel injector enough.

Seriously damn nice wink.gif

Agreed. Chemlube is the best oil among all this lot mentioned. But it is also least known among motorists. It's definitely our secret!

Car: 06 MyVi EZi

Brand: Castrol
Oil Type: 10W-40 Magnatec Semi Syn
Price: RM95
Thoughts: (3.5/5) Not too bad. Still felt smooth after 5000 km

Brand: BHP
Oil Type: 5W-40 SynGard 8000 Full Syn
Price: RM 160
Thoughts (1.5/5) Only good for around 2500 km. Engine felt rough after 4500km, slow pickup, high fc. Cannot stand it anymore and drained it after 8000km.

Brand: Mobil
Oil Type: 10W-40 Super 2000 X1 Semi Syn
Price: RM99
Thoughts: Only done 1000 km and is amazing. Immediately felt smoother than the BHP. Smoother engine ans faster pickup.

Firstly, if your car is 1 year old, you still have 2 years warranty. during this period, most likely, you have to service at Proton.

-(my car is 1 and a half years old, and I think Proton warranty is important. I have changed my rear drum brake assembly for free under warranty)

So at Proton SC most of the time, cannot bring your own oil. So you have to use their Petronas Syntium. Syntium 800 is the semi synthethic. I used this only once, during my first 1000km service. Performance wise, it was good for driving less than 1 and a half hours. I have driven to Hatyai with this 800 and after 1 and a half hours, the engine sounds rough. After cooling off the engine went back smooth again.

But my second service onwards, I changed to Syntium 1000 fully synthethic. There is a great difference in the performance.
The engine is very smooth and I have driven to Krabi, longest stretch 4 hours non stop from Hatyai to Krabi. Engine was very smooth and no rough sounds. So I believe even after my warranty period, I will stick to Fully Synthetic but not Petronas because Petronas is too Expensive. My choice would be Tesco Oil Fully Synthetic or Mobil 1 when Tesco got offer!

Also with Fully sythetic, you can service at 10k km interval. that in itself is another savings.

So to answer you, Yes, do change to FS engine oils.
