which means Dell Laptop get overheat very fast huh?
Hmm...

other recommendation?

the reason y sxps16 air ventilation is not good is because the screen is blocking however if they dont do it this way, sxps16 will be thinker. dont simple assume dell laptop ez overheat just because of 1 model having this design. however, my dad's inspiron 1440 aso has the similar design but due to its lower end spec, it's not as serious as sxps16. for gaming, i think its cooling system still able to cope but if u want to use to fold, better get a good cooler

For 15" : whats the difference between the dell you recommended and

Acer 5943G, i7 720QM + ATi HD5850, 4GB, 640GB@RM4799

Is the HD5850 a better GPU? or is there some reason why the dell is better than acer
*
HD 5850 is better than HD 5730. Dell SXPS16 got full HD screen and 5943G got better GPU.

QUOTE(nayte @ Aug 17 2010, 05:17 PM)
Hi guys. Just wanna get a general feedback on the comparison between getting a MacBook Pro 15" 2.4ghz i5 @ RM5899 and a Dell Studio XPS 16 i7 @ RM 4899.

I'm a uni student and would be using the laptop mostly for assignments, movies, music, games (Warcraft, COD, Starcraft etc). Would the MacBook be able to handle games such as these? I'm atrtacted to the MB's battery life and its build quality, but haven't really been able to explore it.

On the other hand, the Dell SXPS16 looks pretty decent as well. So i'm just wondering if the premium on the MB is worth paying for and will it be able to fulfill my usage on the laptop. I had a friend tell me that MB's hardly crash, and also have a friend whose old XPS's mobo got fried. So is it right to say that MB's will last longer than the Dell?

thanks in advance smile.gif

crash?? still depend how the user use it. so far my laptops never crash b4. can i know ur friend using which XPS?? last longer or not still depend how the user treat it. if u r a rough user, even a rugged laptop also cant survive long

thx bro. but im thinking for macbook pro. haha. biggrin.gif

i dont recommend u to get macbook pro with 2 reason:
1. autocad,solidworks,cathia dont support mac os x
2. if u use windows, i can all the laptops i suggested is hell lots better than the macbook pro 13 or macbook white.
well, the money is urs. the last words i can say is choose wisely, that's all.
