QUOTE(tanhks @ May 24 2010, 07:16 PM) i switch to Maxis because Maxis have widest coverage. celcom has the widest coverage in malaysia. in term of speed, maxis win even small town also has HSDPA coverage and it is above 1.5Mb/s download speed for all package (whether it is RM48/month or RM68/month or RM98/month or RM178/month). (last i checked) |

QUOTE(tanhks @ May 26 2010, 01:37 AM) I have tried prepaid broadband (Hotlink) before also. i think u can get more help if you post under mobile section..very often, although already activate the weekly plan. when after connect, open browser, it only open the default page that is the prepaid broadband default page. and no other website can be open. need to disconnect, reconnect tried many time than only able to access other website. here is mostly for maxis bb.. |

QUOTE(tanhks @ May 26 2010, 10:36 AM) the stability might depend on the USB HSDPA modem? modem type/model do play significant role in the stability. When i use Huawei E1762 that provided by Maxis, it quite often disconnect by it self. but when i use ZTE MF100, it is more stable. I got this ZTE MF100 when i signup U mobile last time but now i have cancel the account. E1762 is a 3.75G modem max download speed 7.2Mb/s ZTE MF100 is a 3.5G modem max download speed is 3.6Mb/s each modem hv different signal strenght/etc.. if u wan to improve the speed/coverage for e1762, you can purchase external antenna for it. Added on May 26, 2010, 1:44 pm QUOTE(mouldybread @ May 26 2010, 11:38 AM) hi all, i just got a call from maxis and they offered some kind of maxis bb package to me. its free for the 1st 2 months and on the 3rd month onwards will cost 48rm. the quota given is 3GB (throttle after that) and i have to use for 12 months for the modem to be owned. anybody got this call as well from maxis or is this a scam? for me, rm48 for 3gb is a good offer if there is no contract for it.. for now, i'm payin rm48 for 1.5GB nia..to confirmed whether the offer is true or scam, u may call maxis to clarify on this. just make sure there is no contract for it, and no termination fees if u were to terminate it.
