But why celcom and digi can provide it without any difficulty?
*
Simple answer would be Maxis is an open bandwidth and control on quota. Whereby, others put restriction on bandwidth. That is why I can get Maxis highest speedtest at 60Mbps. This way, user will exceed quota faster and force to buy more.

Even if I buy an hour pass. Still I can get more than 10Mbps speedtest.

need some confirmation about the maxis broadband.
1) lets say if i get rm68 package, once i exceed the quota of 3gb, will i be charged for the extra kb i used??? or only limited ths speed to 128kbs?
2) for the first time registration, rm100 activation fees need to be paid. so mean this is a non refundable amount?
3) is the rm68 net or still need add in tax or service charge etc??
4) any extra rebate if use credit card autodebit like digi or celcom??

thanks! realy appreciate your reply! smile.gif

From 16/8, data charges will be aligned to industry practice of 10KB/block. Price per KB is unchanged. For info: http://wap.maxis.com.my/h

After reach limit they throttle the bandwidth. If you need your normal speed back, you must buy top up.

-get a provider that uses lesser hops to NY server. yet, i don't know which one.
-get a provider that hops direct to US
-from the trace route reply, you can see where is the bottleneck. avoid this provider

you can test using this commnad

windows:
tracert (server name) e.g. tracert www.yahoo.com

linux/solaris
traceroute (servername) e.g. traceroute www.yahoo.com

do it on different provider.

Do a speedtest bro. If your upload more than 384Kbps then you are really on HSPA. Else, a dummy HSPA and only HSDPA.

If you want to change, do it outside. Maxis does not have upgrade modem package. Your ZTE MF600 should be better than USB Modem because it has pole antenna, better for transmission.

thanks! i tested prepaid hotlink broadband. the speedtest showed my connection is between 0.9mbps - 1.2mbps at my house. but in my office, it showed 0.4- 0.5+mbps. not bad compare to other network which i tried b4.. digi dun have 3g in my area yet.. so only run edge although it also very stable! celcom unless i stand outside the road to online, or else it keep changing from gprs to 3g then back again... sad.gif

so tomolo i will go to maxis centre sign up the 3gb package! rclxms.gif

Better don't change to usb modem. ZTE MF600 is way better signal reception than usb modem.
