After speaking to both String and Edoras, my iPad has become more capable happy.gif Thanks to String for enlightening me how to put nice cover art for TV and movies in iTunes which incidentally made me want to put more stuff on my already fully populated 16GB >.< and Edoras for bringing up Calibre and suddenly it is so much nicer to read PDFs in iBook ePub format happy.gif

Was late for work this morning as I was busy converting stuff for the iPad haha

You may be in for a dilemma here. I have two occasions where I CAN get you the STM Micro bag while I'm in Brisbane and Perth this month, BEFORE the Muzetto stock improves. Decisions, decisions, decisions. tongue.gif
*
haha yeah decisions decisions, but as you said, Brisbane might not have accessories yet due to the launch date and knowing Perth I don't fancy the odds hehe so yeah maybe it is a blessing indeed that might point me towards the muzetto smile.gif June cannot come soon enough for the bulk buy to start smile.gif

need you all help here. i jst got my ipad and found the adaptor is different while the pin is diffrent. I found that my Apple iphone adaptor is similar may i know it is possible to used it to charge my ipad? Anyone who is selling the adaptor?
*
I just changed the head of the adapter with one of my old macbook adapter heads. You can use your iPhone adapter but know that it is only 5W so it takes slightly longer to charge the iPad. That is 10W if not mistaken (*goes off to check the charger).

QUOTE(slickz @ May 18 2010, 08:05 PM)
I need to actually hold the ipad in my hands and see if it's heavy enough to be uncomfortable to type with one hand. Also, what about the heat from the device?

At the moment I seem to be torn between choosing this or a HTC HD2 Android.
*
Holding it and typing with one hand can be a tad tiring due to the device having a bit of heft but not a deal killer. In fact once you get used to it, you will hardly notice it. Heat? Only one time I ever felt any heat was when I was using it in the car stuck in a traffic jam and it was exposed to the sun, other than that, never felt any heat from the back of the device.

Can't compare a phone to a tablet/slate/insert any name here. If you feel that you want to have the best media consumption device at the moment, be it reading books, watching movies, surfing the web or even social media, then the iPad is your choice. As many people have pointed out, this is not going to replace your laptop but it will replace that dinky netbook. Plus ever since I got my iPad my iPhone has been relegated to a corner only brought out for the occasional music listening session smile.gif Of course that might change when the 4th gen iPhone launches tongue.gif

how to import PPT file to keynote. I try few time also pop out to home screen.
*
Sync the file via iTunes or if in your mail app, just use the "open in" option. when using the mail app option, it auto converts and imports into Keynote. If you transfer via iTunes you have to select the import option (*icon on the top right) then select the file you wish to convert and import. Note that you can only import MS PPT but cannot export back to that format.

oh really you can save lots of money here by using or buying a mi fi? by the way what is mi fi? I ask here b4 no one want to answer me  sad.gif
*
Not about saving money from using it. Meant as saving money to buy the device smile.gif Mi-Fi is like a mobile 3G router which you can use to connect a few devices to it and get connected to the Internet, useful if you wish to have mobile connectivity for your iPad, notebooks etc etc

I am new to Mi-Fi as well, so my explanation may not be entirely right smile.gif You can check out String's picture of his mi-fi device in the first iPad thread.

I tried Keynote on a friend's iPad...looks good, but anyone actually use it for work?
*
use it for presentation on a day to day basis but cannot export to ppt yet so I try not to make changes to the slides. Only notations.

Hmm, if we get the VGA adapter basically keynote can replace ppt for simple presentations right? I'm intrigued by that...
*
yup using the adapter now. But if the presentations are animation heavy or complex, the iPad does chug a bit. But that is not the norm.

It looks nice with the pocket but however making it stand and also putting an object under looks very awkward... blink.gif
*
Yeah I second this, awkward indeed. Believe someone posted this before, still can't swallow the concept of using any object to place underneath, means you always need to keep something nearby or with you to prop it up.

Guys, I'm thinking of buying Civilization Revolution for the iPad. Has anyone bought it yet? Is it worth it?
*
I bought it because I always wanted to play Civ on my iPad but honestly it is still buggy like the iPhone version. And yes what String said is true because some assets are not reworked so sometimes it is blown up or remains the same size as the iPhone smile.gif Call me a sucker but even after knowing this I still bought it tongue.gif

Oh dem. Honestly though if it's fun i'd still buy it smile.gif
*
Suggestion, do not buy it until they update it. Some games never seem to get any updates at all. It is fun, but it does crash from time to time and do not think you want to spend USD 12.99, but I think USD 4.99 for Angry Birds is justifiable, very fun fun.
