Dungeon HD is fun too, and minigore.
*
Yeah I bought Dungeon Hunter HD and Minigore HD although I had the iPhone versions, learnt not to simply buy apps after that and to read reviews first lol, Dungeon HD no different from the iPhone app, same goes for Minigore in fact.

Lol... Everyone got their own 'jalan' or 'lubang'... Lol.

Still thinking if I should get the beejive as I already got the IM+. What say ppl?
*
Do not like the IM+ interface, clunky for me. But big factor is that it is free for me as it is universal. The iPhone version isn't that bad, maybe just need to revamp the interface.

Now, I'm able to use logitech Bluetooth mouse with iPad, so happy...

Just need to configure the buttons now
*
Some buttons are not clickable using bluetooth mouse (*not to mention cannot use native BT keyboard when the mouse is on unless you got BTstack KB as well), this is true when browsing itunes i try to click on Featured/Categories and it won't click.

You don't see any RGB noise on those screenshots on that link, right? wink.gif Made in Japan, baby!

Ordered myself a set of Power Support as well, trying to get a friend in the US to get the STM carry bag for me tongue.gif if not I will just tide myself with my VMware laptop bag happy.gif

Quite surprised to hear about your experience with the iPad 3G, reviews are saying the power drain isn't that significant, an hour difference compared to the wi-fi model.

After reading what String mentioned about the battery life in the iPad 3G, guess online reviews should take that into consideration as well, rather than just running static tests smile.gif

As for me, still waiting for $$$ to finance a Mi-Fi unit hehe with all my work, haven't had the chance to properly use the iPad, though my 3GS got plenty of usage.

I had already fully utilized my 16GB, but not planning to upgrade to a higher capacity, just have to be prudent in what I store on the device smile.gif

The SP that comes with the Nude is glossy in nature as well, so prepare to wipe alot smile.gif But the case itself is pretty good, bought it on the recommendation of String.

Anyone using iPad WiFi + MyWi?
*
I am using such a combination now. Whilst it provides an alternative to mifi for me temporarily, it does suck up my 3GS battery very fast which isn't an issue at times since I can charge the phone via my car charger. I know it saved me a few times when I needed to log onto Werule tongue.gif

QUOTE(stringfellow @ May 25 2010, 07:14 PM)
From the current observation alone, the iPAd WiFi + MiFi is king, compared to the standalone 3G.

Pros and Cons of the two different version, all IMO of course:-

iPad WiFi + MiFi

+ Battery saver! You have steady power drain because of steady connection between your iPad and the MiFi. Power depletion is much steadier, which gives that peace of mind that you won't run out of power in your daily commute/routine.
+ Depending on the specs of your MiFi, you can now get reasonably accurate position compared to WiFi only position triangulation. This opens up the possibility of using the Wifi-only iPad to navigation.
+ Since the MiFi is with you all the time now, for road warriors using other devices that can tap onto WiFi connection, this provides another option to go online.
+ Aesthethically more pleasing than the 3G, with a clean aluminum back, compared to the black-strip on the 3G model
+ You can reuse your current SIM card on the MiFi without the need to mutilate it further to fit into the 3G SIM tray. The annoyance of having to swap between your phone and the MiFi may be a deterrent to some to do this often. Also, you avoid needing to subscribe to another data package to be use solely for the MiFi.
-  Apps that require GPS positioning, will not be able to take advantage of the WiFi model. This is for future-proofing purposes, for example an app that requires pinpoint accuracy to work, such as location-aware apps, etc.
-  You're carrying two devices instead of all-in-one.
-  Once your MiFi battery power depletes, you're stuck with searching for WiFi hotspots for your connection. Most MiFi solutions last 5 hours *advertised*, and unless you want to bring its charger (add another device), you're stuck without a connection until it is recharged, or you're in another hotspot.

iPad 3G

+ All-in-one! The constraints of moving around with finite amount of space that can be brought with you in this case is a huge plus. Travelling light with the iPad is the whole idea here.
+ Built-in, GPS component with A-GPS. This gives pinpoint accurate positioning if you're concerned with apps that uses navigational properties.
+ Future-proofing, to a certain extent. Granted, there may be future updates to the iPad, but with every feature sets on the device, all available apps, present or future will be able to take advantage of the device fully. May be obsoleted by future add ons to the iPads like cameras, etc.
-  Battery hog! Moving around with the device alone has shown that power draw is significantly larger because of the need to remain connected, the device will compensate by increasing power consumption to catch the 3G signal in low-strength coverage areas.
- Aesthetically less pleasing in looks because of the black strip
- Unless you're subscribing to service operators with support for microSIMs, mutilation to fit into the 3G iPad is necessary. May entice users to subscribe to a secondary data-package only service, which adds to the already burgeoning cost.

Bear in mind, these are my pros and cons, these points may or may not be important to you, depending on how and where you use your iPad. Feel free to add your own take on this.

The best combo I'd see would be the 3G iPad + MiFi, for that maximum connectivity + battery conservation purposes. You can turn off the 3G wireless connection while using MiFi, and once MiFi battery depletes, you can either already be at a hotspot, or use the onboard 3G connectivity.
*
This makes it clear for me, iPad WiFi + Mi-Fi happy.gif I hardly go online actually, only to check on my crops in WeRule hehe most of the time I am reading PDF or comics on the iPad. Very useful observations indeed, will help answer many similar and of course upcoming questions in regards to Wi-Fi or 3G model.

How about ipad wifi+mifi vs ipad wifi+iphone mywi.?

Im using ipad wifi + iphone mywi. The speed is faster when pairing with ipad  compare surfing with iphone itself.
*
The iPhone battery will definitely take a hit. I live with it temporarily, my battery life is bad as it is, now even worse when I keep using MyWi on it hehe

Have not encountered issues with the staff when I asked them to apply the SP for my 3GS previously. They were pretty courteous about it, at times a few bad apples will spoil the image of the rest smile.gif

Wow the post in garage sales by xavinlyn is absolutely massive. Lots of items there to consider. Thanks for sharing the link (previous page).

Sorry if this is a repeated question, i do try to search and read everything. I attend alot of business meetings and meet consultants quite often in my line of work, and i need a professional stylish case/bag for my iPad. Perhaps a leather or black looking one. Does anyone have any recommendations to this? There are so many around (like in the link i shown above) but i prefer a recommendation from you guys who have actually seen and held one.

And how do you guys solve the standing up for your iPad issue? do you guys just hold it? or buy a desk stand for your iPad? or do you choose only cases that can also help stand your iPad up on a desk. If so, are there any good professional looking case that can stand the iPad up?

Any help in advance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Realized something today. When I was using my iPad with VGA cable for presentation, when I prop the iPad onto the stand provided by SwitchEasy, the project turn blank which is normal if there is no signal. This happened because I think the internal sensors were orienting and Keynote video out presentation does not work with the iPad being at a 45 degree angle (*I am not sure on this but I experienced it this morning). When I placed my iPad flat on the table again it worked again.

either the cable was loose or there is a limitation.

Were you the one yesterday at IPCC? Anyway, I'm searching for the VGA cable, where can I get it?
*
Nope wasn't me, although I would have love to attend smile.gif But I digress, there are forumers selling the VGA cable here so you can search around in the garage sales thread.Sorry could not locate the thread.

Just got back from Machines @ Pyramid (*5 - 10 minute walk from Menara Sunway) and got my Power Support Anti Glare SP, they were pretty nice about putting it on for me smile.gif

As for the STM bags, when Keyven receives his, probably will take a look then decide from there hehe being an early adopter means having bought lots of stuff to experiment with and my wallet is hurting tongue.gif

Considering that they distributed iPods, maybe they get to distribute the iPad this time around.
