what is the 'X' on the back of adidas jersey? is it for player issue only or all jersey got the 'X'

That is the player issue version, that is Techfit, the other player issue version is Formotion, the box set that you can buy at Adidas store for about RM500 is Techfit version

techfit is a player issue technology.
so it's abit more expensive.
i believe that the local stores won't be bringing in these shirts.

There are 2 type of jerseys. One is called replica jerseys (the ones which are sold at stores) which are meant for public sales. They are made using CLIMACOOL technology.

The other one is called player issue jerseys, which are the ones actually worn by the players on the pitch. They were made using FORMOTION technology.

In 2010, adidas introduced another option for players to wear on the pitch, which is called TECHFIT. The technology is where there is a X web shaped elastic rubber band that wraps the body of the player. It is said to increase the player's strength (jumping, running etc etc) through the X web support.

If you notice, players nowadays like to wear undergarments that are skin tight. Reason is because in a way, it enhances the muscle and also wicks out sweat better compared to not wearing undergarments. Nike has Nike Pro. Adidas has Adidas Techfit.

So players now have options to wear either FORMOTION based jerseys or TECHFIT based jerseys. Hope this answers your question

Yes, box set jersey means what it says.. jersey inside a box set. It is a trend now where jerseys that come with commemorative box set. It is more pricey and made unique in a way (example, the jersey is player issue, the jersey is limited and has number (example, 1 of 1000)).

the boxset has PI jerseys in it.
and of course the has some other fancy packaging along with it
