You need to use an external flash capable of doing fast sync to go above 1/200s shutter speed limit eg. SB900.
tried sb-900 but still limits to 1/200s. furthermore no fp high speed sync in d5000...Photography Nikon D40/D40x/D60/D3000/D5000 V9, Entry Level Digital SLR from Nikon.

QUOTE(celciuz @ Jun 8 2010, 08:18 AM) Alamak, can't turn on FP? In that case, you can't use flash for outdoors most of the time since you most likely go above 1/200s. thats y bro. even if i crank up d aperture till f/36 & lo down d iso, its still above 1/200s my hand really itchy wanna buy d90 now |

Gonna snap some girls at there. i get an invitation from AXE. ^^ just use widest aperture, set your flash on auto mode, ISO100-200 and adjust shutter speed accordingly. can try bouncing the flash upwards or direct, but use a diffuser la. well at least that way you can see the girl's face nice and clear and bright, but not for the background la of course hehe.owh btw.. what's the setting for d3000 to capture a photo in disco/pub. using flash gun sb600. |

I suggest ISO 400~800, flash mode you like (auto or manual, depends on your skill), and of course widest aperture. I would use manual mode on 1/50 or 1/60s shutter.
