Well, most of the TN panels monitor won't have adjustable stand, don't think they ever need it? Just my opinion.
Dell professional monitor however is different story, probably for business sector where they use it a lot.

umm... ST2410L.. oh dear.. LOL... I thought it was the old CCFL backlight model, sorry.
But if your monitor still useable, you can chat with Dell online anytime, or phone their free toll line to verify if it's really button LED broke. Not sure if they'll send another unit to replace yours. |

QUOTE(tZZ @ Oct 24 2010, 12:58 PM) If you look at the price, it's definitely cost higher, higher the price, higher the warranty value. Price of warranty extension up to 3 years for Alienware laptop can more than 2k, it's up to the total cost of the product that you gonna purchase. This is same goes for every product. |

Why not choose Dell? I don't think Dell has this kind of issue, well some people do but the numbers is small.
Go with ST2420L, my friend got it from ordering through 1 of the forumer here, you can do "dell monitor" search at Trade Section. Although it's slow delivery but the panel has premium guarantee, which not many of the local branded LCD does (I haven found any yet so far). Even with 1 bright pixels you can exchange on next business day, provided they have stock at the local agent. And oh, they deliver to your home, same goes to warranty and service, you just need to sit back at home and relax. |

QUOTE(MeToo @ Oct 28 2010, 03:48 PM) Kinda too late for me, as the shop will never refund, they will allow me to change to other models/items. But I already plunk 1k+ and if I order dell means I will be spending close to 2k for a monitor sigh. Also, dell, I dont think ALL-IT carry them instore. Well, better choose other brand then, I don't really trust Samsung anymore, my last 2333SW was great disappointment, that's why I gave up on Samsung, was my best choice brand. |

QUOTE(Smackers @ Oct 30 2010, 11:45 AM) Anyone have a recommendation for a 24" LCD or LED with Full HD 1080p?I've been researching alot of 24" lcds but so far i still cant make any decision.Shud i get those with HDMI inputs or DVI will just do fine?Time to replace my samsung 2243SWX PLUS. Dell ST2420L? It has HDMI input as well as the VGA and DVI, and it's Full HD.HDMI will depends on whether you have non-PC Full HD device that you want to output to your monitor, otherwise if you just using your monitor for your PC, it does not really matter, DVI does fine as HDMI. Non-PC Full HD device example: PS3, XBox360, Blu-Ray Player, Full HD CamCoder, etc. 1 of my friend needs to connect his PC along with PS3 to 1 monitor, so I would recommend ST2420L, anyway, it's much cheaper than the Ultrasharp series |

QUOTE(TechnoG @ Oct 31 2010, 07:53 PM) I know this question have been asked many times, but since no one replied, so yeahh. Dell Professional or Ultrasharp series? IMHO I think they're the thinnest bezel 3/4" should be quite ok.can anyone recommend me a thin bezel monitor? I mean as in one really really thin, cause building a eyefinity rig. Can't think of any thin bezel model to recommend locally. |

QUOTE(TechnoG @ Nov 1 2010, 08:29 AM) hhmm Well, this is best of current technology can offer, unless they scrape that front panel button, then maybe can archive 1cm or slightly thinner.jeez. Isn't there any more "thinner" bezel monitors? what about Eyefinity users? don't they feel it's a bit weird for a 3cm black line blocking their view? OLED can do this though, but OLED is way too expensive to boot, and only few manufacturer actually produce this. Dell Professional and Ultrasharp is recommended because all 4 sides of the bezel is same width, making landscape or portrait eyefinity very attractive. |

Best Eyefinity monitor?
http://www.crvd.com/order.php Also, another forum discussing the very same thing. http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=119560 1 suggest to take off the casing, leaving even thinner bezel. http://metku.net/mods/transtft/06.jpg |

QUOTE(TechnoG @ Nov 2 2010, 09:24 AM) it's 23" U2311H does not have good viewing angle, have tested myself on 1 which my boss client company has 1 (surfing and office document, wtf shiat brix, I only realize it's TN panel now I guess I'll settle for Dell Ultrasharp series. The brightness will change slightly when you view from side way, but color and contrast still remain pretty much the same, only got dimmer. And as for 2209WA, since there's youtube review of this model, you can search youtube for this 2 model side by side comparison. The rest is up to you, your $$ and your decision |

Dell monitor all dull one, I don't know about Samsung cause no fix price list online.
For some monitors pricing, you can go to pczonecomputer.com and compu-zone.com to download their pricelist, they can be used as guide line for your budget. p/s: Your presentation attender is looking at the monitor or the content? o.0" |

QUOTE(MicroBio @ Nov 2 2010, 07:53 PM) When you look at Ultrasharp series, simple straight-forward 1.7cm width frame all around, no fancy curve, no piano shiny finish, very simple button, that's dull. When you look at Acer, Samsung for example, all their latest one, has very slim, sexy stand, the frame has piano shiny finish, transparent curve to make the monitor looks much attractive. So it'll depends on what customer is looking for, some like fancy shiny stuff, some like me just look at the features and the panel tech. Oh, I like the U2311H bulky leg, hehehe QUOTE(ahbenchai @ Nov 2 2010, 07:55 PM) Those are dynamic contrast, does not really has any different when you view it side by side. Marketing gimmick. Please look at those monitor review to check their actual contrast ratio. This post has been edited by wildwestgoh: Nov 2 2010, 08:23 PM |

QUOTE(MeToo @ Nov 3 2010, 11:01 AM) A lot of Dell fan in this thread, but for me Dell's monitor, although might be good quality, the design is too old-style and "dull". I want something that looks good on my table, not some old square plastic box. Dell monitors, especially the Ultrasharp and Professional series is for serious user, not for those who'll show off their monitor or for self-satisfaction, so I think myself is not the one that'll look at the cover first, panel quality come first. Samsung right now has quite poor QC after they become popular few years back, and their panel is getting out of hand, I myself have since not so fond of the brand, been fan of the CRT monitors (until 2 units broke down in 2 years, shame!).Samsung however, i lack faith in, you have to make sure you get a GOOD unit, that itself might be a real challenge... You can have a look at TVs, it'll cost you dearly but for the price, the finishing of the covers looks great and attractive. QUOTE(rublik @ Nov 3 2010, 11:43 AM) thinking of either dell U2711 (large screen) or alienware OptX™ AW2310 U2711: resolution is 2560x1440, IPS panel, 60Hz, for serious graphic professional.23"W (3D-Capable Monitor) What is ur opinion? AW2310: resolution is 1920x1080, TN panel, 120Hz, for 3D gaming and movies. Your $$ your decision, if I can afford that amount, I'll take U2711 anytime. QUOTE(TechnoG @ Nov 3 2010, 11:57 AM) uumm. More specified? which model for Samsung monitors? P2311H is TN, LED, faster response time 5ms WTB.and should I go for Dell Professional P2311H or Dell UltraSharp U2311H? both at the same price @ RM649. U2311H is IPS, CCFL, slower response time 6ms GTG. Other specs such as the stands, features almost the same. |
