MORATTI: "A FEW, BUT GOOD MOVES"
Monday, 06 June 2005 23:19:31
MILAN - No negotiations for Adriano, an interest in Argentine midfielder Solari, the worries about those players absent and those on international duty ahead of the Italian Cup final against Roma, and the positive opinion on the Italian government's new plans for safer and more secure stadiums. These were some of the topics Massimo Moratti touched on during an interview with journalists at Monday evening's presentation of the new Inter Club 'Casa della Carit'.

"From a certain point of view this has been a constructive season," said Moratti about the Nerazzurri's season. "There's great confidence in the coach and what he has done. It is a concrete step in the construction of what will come. Spend less money? Well, this would certainly be wise..."

On Adriano, the Inter patron said: "I have also read that there are apparently offers. Yes, the evaluation could be what has been written, but no one has ever moved to talk about it. We're counting on the player so we can do well with him. There's no super offer. Adriano's recent declarations? They apparently seem a bit out of tune, but in these cases you never know if he really said these things or whether they were translated badly. And the day before he said some nice things and put pressure on the (Brazil) coach so he could play the Coppa Italia, which is a great demonstration of his love for Inter."

Moratti added: "In general we are assessing the needs of the team at the moment, and where we need to intervene. I don't know if Samuel is having a crisis with Real Madrid, but even those players having problems with their clubs are valued at a high price. Cassano? Gilardino? I see that all the players on the transfer market have been linked to Inter, but we're not doing anything. Solari? It could be a different matter for him. We have been following him for a long time and he could be a player to bet on. I don't think the fans are dreaming of a great coup, but want to carry forward this project, with a few, but good moves on the transfer market."

On the difficulties of preparing for the Coppa Italia final with so many players on international duty, Moratti said: "It won't be easy against Roma because of these situations. We have given a lot to some national teams in the past, for example in Argentina. One year we lost Javier Zanetti for three months, and this year we had to do without Kily Gonzlez for six months after the Olympics, but I can see that they create problems about letting us have a player for just one match. These are not polemics, but I think that with common sense, and there's still room for common sense, a solution can always be found."

EDIT: I would want inter to get solari. AFAIK, last time Inter tried to get solari through the sale of ronaldo to RM.

Adriano staying put - for now

Internazionale striker Adriano has rubbished suggestions he could leave the Serie A giants this summer after being linked with Chelsea.

"Real Madrid and Chelsea wanted to speak to me and find out if I was interested in joining them. I said to my agent Gilmar, I do not want to speak to them and I don't want to break any contact.

"I never said if I don't win anything with Inter I will ask to leave the club," Adriano told the website gazzetta.it.

"I want to stay at Inter for as long as I can. I'm happy in Milan, here there are so many people who care about me."

then got one more also. Was it against sampdoria..? i;m not that sure but Inter were 2-0 down, and scored 3 goals during the dying minutes...about 2 minutes plus injury time notworthy.gif

EDIT: Yup, adriano most likely won't go...Inter really need him for now. Wah, 1st club i supported: Chelsea. At the same day, I fell in love with inter as well because of zamorano and the other legends. Inter don't want sell adriano to chelsea= i'm quite sad. Inter sell off Adriano, = i'm sad as well sweat.gif

Roma played some wonderful football, but two moments of sheer magic from Adriano have given Inter a 2-0 first leg lead in the Coppa Italia Final.

the Emperor like it this way...

Adriano invites Cassano bid

Inter striker Adriano says he would welcome the summer arrival of Roma starlet Antonio Cassano.

The Italian is a known transfer target for the Nerazzurri and his proposed partnership with Adriano has excited the Brazilian.

"I would be very happy if Antonio came to Milan," said the South American, who netted twice against Roma in the Coppa Italia last night.

Inter: We don't need Cassano

Inter owner Massimo Moratti has denied claims that he will sign Antonio Cassano from Roma.

Speculation suggests that Cassano is the "gift" that Moratti has promised the Nerazzurri fans this summer.

But the millionaire patron insists that the Italian international is not a transfer target for his club at all.

well, actually Inter always got a very talented squad all the time...

but somehow all the stars juz cant perform up to standard as a team... that why we called Inter the "Black Hole of Stars" or "Graveyard of Stars"... tongue.gif

anyway, after winning the Coppa Italia, this could be a new era for them. Well, they deserve more - n certainly can do more - with the squad they got.
