Samuel spitting appeal rejected

Walter Samuel will miss the first three Serie A games of the season after his ban for spitting at Pavel Nedved was confirmed.

The Inter defender was caught on camera during last week's Italian Supercup victory over Juventus at the Stadio Delle Alpi, but always maintained he had been spitting at the ground.

Nedved himself admitted that he did not realise anything had happened at the time, but the Disciplinary Commission has rejected Samuel's appeal.

Inter should employ some special "ballboys" to block off those cameramen and journalists in case something like this happens again

Adriano hat-trick puts Inter top

Adriano grabbed an opening day hat-trick as Inter Milan defeated newcomers Treviso 3-0 in the Serie A on Sunday.

Adriano broke the deadlock after 32 minutes, cutting in from the right before powering a left-footed drive into Treviso keeper Handanovic's bottom left-hand corner.

The Brazilian powerhouse grabbed his second midway through the second half. Midfielder Esteban Cambiasso found Dejan Stankovic on the left, who picked out Adriano with a pinpoint chip. The Inter striker chested the ball down before firing past Handanovic to double the hosts' lead.

And eleven minutes from time, the Brazilian completed his hat-trick. David Pizarro skipped three challenges before sliding a clever ball through to Adriano, who prodded home to wrap up the three points for Roberto Mancini's side.

Actually, there a fantasy football league which incorporates EPL, Serie A, La Liga and BundesLiga. Anyway, I think this season Adriano will try to porve he's the best after snubbing Chelsea.

Anyway, it was against Treviso..Isnt Treviso the team which have to play their games elsewhere since their pitch was crap?

Treviso is definitely not Serie A ready... they shouldn't be there actually ! They only grant the entry after Torino n Genoa were denied.

Zanetti sidelined for 40 days

Internazionale will be forced to do without captain Javier Zanetti for over a month because of injury.

The Argentine picked up a thigh problem in the 3-0 win over Treviso and tests have revealed he'll be sidelined for at least 40 days.

There were already fears on Sunday evening that Zanetti's injury was a relatively serious one.

"We are concerned because Zanetti is not the kind of player who stops if he doesn't have to," stated boss Roberto Mancini.
