It depends on individual, i was on a oil platform and you dont see the company rep, the C/O or even the captain wearing smart casual eventhough they have rank, as long as your comfortable, thats what matters. Heck everbody was wearing t-shirts and shorts.

Plus in a hot and humid country, it doesnt make much sense to wear long pants and a jacket unless you like to sweat it out.

Nearly all people with manager status are hypocrites of the higher order. Most managers like to follow the phrase "do as i say, not what i do" mantra.

You can either prove that what he is doing is wrong or you can follow in this foot steps and become the very thing that you despise, most people who like power will do the latter, reminds me of umnos MO.

Is the world cup televised on pp stream? I heard some of those IPTV dongles have world cup streaming albeit with a significant delay in broadcast schedule and commentary from a mainlander.

If depends on geographical location as well, i did noticed that the speed and overall usage of my m1 mobile broadband (dongle) has improved in my area during peak period. Last time i had to wait for youtube to stream but now i can watch it without having to wait for it to load. Though things can still be improved such as overall speed connectivity over the republic and maximum throughput speed.

Thats great news for those who dont want 2 pay for 60 dollars worth of ppv to starhub or singtel.

Yup your employer needs to cancel your current pass so that your new company can issue a new on for you. I guess you quit the company and joined a new one b4 confirming that your current employment pass under your former company has been terminated. If the boss wants to be a "d***" and knows of your employment to another company, he/she may cause you some inconvenience by not terminating your pass for a few days.

Not sure about your 2nd question but i dont believe they will be a fine since you only start paying income tax after working in singapore for at least a year and even if they do ask you to pay income tax, you pay it directly yo mom, not a deduction of pay from the company.

I know one guy who's working for rws at the tables. He noticed quite a few malaysian datuks who play at the VIP tables, and as with malaysia as long as a person isnt in malaysia, people can do non-halal things in other countries and still be a holyman in malaysia.

So the VIP status are diff for those on passes and for singaporeans/PR's.

Does anybody know how much you have to "spend" in order to get the VIP pass? I wonder if "spend" = how much money you played away to the casino and your consolation prize is the VIP pass. Coz my fren plays there quite often, nearly every weekend and he rakes in around 500 dollars in winnings, the odd thing is he hasnt loss his principal sum. He may go there and lose some in the early stages but when he walks out he's in the blue.

You havent seen the bangla and indian workers have you? They can live on around 900 sing dollars and still have money to send to their families. It depends on what you prioritize on spending and how much you expect to save.

Depends on individual, some like to "lepak" in the office, others just treat it as a job and theres no point staying in the office if they dont have any urgent work to be done.

Plus you can work offsite with remote office systems. Chinaman sees your productivity go parallel with time, the more time you spend at the office automatically entitle you to the status of "hardworking". They dont usually take into account that their staff may goyang kaki and play facebook instead of starting to do the job on hand depending on the urgency of the task at hand.

Dont you know that bosses have the authority to "Do as i say, not what i do". Nevermind that their staff thinks of them as a 2nd rate human being but if they get the job done, why does the boss care what people think of him since its only the results which matter.

If his basic is low, you really cant expect the employer to give a fantastic bonus amount.

At least you dont get a job through an agent like those from india, bangladesh or burma. They pay an arm and a leg to get a decent job in singapore, only to be disappointed.

I guess gotta persevere, anybody know the gaming rules for pontoon or blackjack at marina bay sands. Odd that asking a question warrants a deleted post.
